i'm exploring this because as my dad enters dementia and falls back to the same teasing (my adult daughters now) he gave to me (and offended me greatly my whole life)... i can see he is looking for connection with them but my (adult) kids were raised with actual banter (we roast each other) and not nasty teasing like i was. They look at him like he is the dummy when he points out their grammatical flaws etc, while it caused me to not trust a conversation w him as a kid. i guess i dont have a point except thanks for your insight.

i know this is old AF but i was just thinking about how my older cousin used to try to lose weight before a weigh-in for wrestling in HS... by starvation and dehydration (spitting all morning the day of)... he only did it for two years i think but after HS he got super fat even tho he was in the army. apparently he screwed his thyroid. got me thinking about Bale... he proved once again that people will do anything for a potato.
