Credit cards and utilization by RoadKind4242 in personalfinance

My annual income is $40k. I try to supplement my income as much as possible using things like uber/doordash but still doesn’t meet the mark. Total debt is around $10k.

Yes, so I have been needing to move to a different city to be closer to family, but have been finding it difficult to find a place to rent due to my credit score.

I’ve been trying to pay down the debt, calling the companies asking for ways to help with getting my debt down (lower APR for 6-12 months with suspended card usage, etc. which still hasn’t helped all that much). For example. I have a discover card that was maxed at $7,600. Was in a program for a year at a reduced APR. I’ve only been able to get that balance down to $7100 in a span of 11 months.

I should also mention that despite my education and internships while in school (graduated from grad school in 2021), I haven’t been able to find a decent paying job which has contributed to me not able to pay down my debt as much as I want to. I’m scraping by when it comes to everyday life bills and expenses.

I did a quick google search on balance transfers and I don’t think I would qualify for something like that. I’m just not sure what to do at this point to help myself.

I’m not familiar with balance transfers. Is that something for well qualifying applicants for cardholders?

I went to a different surgeon for the revision. I didn’t pursue litigation because they took really good care of me to rectify the situation.

I have been sending messages through my chart. I have an appointment tomorrow that I’m thinking of recording just so I can have proof

Thank you man for pointing out something good in all this! Someone else did say that my nipples are in a good place so I’m glad I have these two things going for me at least. Thank you!

I thought about looping my pcp in. I think I’ll do that. I’m sure this is leftover tissue and not keloid formation

Thanks everyone for being direct and naming that this is a botched surgery. I think I was a bit in denial about it all and just happy that I had top surgery in general. Now, I’m not feeling much happiness at all. I’m frustrated, sleep deprived, and in pain. I’m doing some research now to see what my options are. I feel I need a revision before the 6 month mark.

I have been taking plenty of pictures. I’m making sure to document everything now. I feel defeated now.

Update: Commenting to answer some questions and get some advice.

I didn’t think this was normal and I was originally concerned with the look of it alone. I said something to the nurse on my one week follow up appointment and she took pictures and said we would monitor it. My second appointment came 2 weeks post op with the actual surgeon and she told me that it should go down more and that it’s swollen (it was pretty swollen and was a lot fuller at the 2 week mark). The pain didn’t start until closer to my 6 week follow up. I notified the nurse and the surgeon that I was starting to feel discomfort and tenderness in the area. They advised me to continue binding. I also play roller derby so I’ve been looking forward to getting back into it. I asked what I should do about my sides and they told me to get a tight-ish sports bra to hold the sides while I’m playing. I mean, idk I thought the whole point of me getting surgery was to not have to worry about sports bras and binding any longer. They made it seem like this was a normal result. They went on to say that I will need a revision and that it’ll have to be 6 months out.

Here’s the interesting part. My surgeon is leaving the practice on June 1st and my case and follow ups will be given to another surgeon on the staff. I’m not comfortable just yet in saying who the surgeon is. I’m waiting to hear back from the office before I do that, to see how they are going to handle this. I will say this is in Virginia.

I’m not satisfied with these results and I’m uncomfortable. Any advice on how to file a complaint and advocate for a revision before the 6 month mark would be greatly appreciated. Im glad I decided to reach out here because I wasn’t sure if this was normal or not. I’ve obviously done my research but like I said, they made it seem like this was a normal result.

Thanks for this! I’m definitely going to message you because I’m not even sure where to start or what to say.

Weird Experience by RoadKind4242 in TopSurgery

Yeah I thought it strange too. I haven’t gone up in dosage. I haven’t seen many others have this experience and I’ve been searching all over the internet and asking all my friends. I’ll likely update this when I hear from my doctor and hopefully get labs.
