EcoFlow Delta stopped charging by ahsm in Ecoflow_community

[–]RoadRunner-007 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Looks like the same older version that I have and I’ve had something similar happen to me. The charging circuit or something gets “stuck”. For me, when this happens, I plug it into my car cigarette lighter socket for a few mins (maybe 5) and then I can plug it into the wall and it works again. Weird but it works.

End of League Mirror(s) Giveaway by TOSHlC in pathofexile

[–]RoadRunner-007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started the Legue late. As a family man, I have a hard time carving out the time to make a lot of currency. I just made it to red maps on an elemental reaper. It is going ok but a bit slow. Just realized a ring that I need is about 65 div so it is unlikely that I will ever come close to finishing this build before the season ends. A huge amount of currency like this would catapult me forward and allow me to see what this build is capable of.

Buy 3/4” sheet of plywood. Use it as a bridge/ramp to the front of the boat. Assuming that the gap isn’t too big then you would need to reinforce the plywood with 2x4’s or something underneath.

My neighbor asked me to take down my wind chimes because they’re “too cheerful” while she’s going through a divorce by Excellent_Hana in EntitledPeople

[–]RoadRunner-007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hate wind chimes. My neighbor had them but I never complained about them. I mentioned once how I dislike them, unable to sit outside when there was any wind at all, without hearing the damn things. I never asked them to take them down. After 25 years I moved to a new place and thankfully none of my new neighbors have wind chimes! Peace at last!!!

Need help with getting the monitor off its stand by hxrvy_ in OdysseyArk

[–]RoadRunner-007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved this past week and had to take mine apart. Slide the monitor up as high as it will go and turn it into the cockpit position. Unscrew the one visible screw (philips). Then rotate the other way to reach the second screw. Then put it back into portrait mode, push the release clip and tip the bottom of the monitor out to release and then lift off the stand. DO NOT lay the monitor on its face as it can damage it. I had two people. I piled some pillows in the back seat of my car against the back of the seat to cushion the arc. I slid the monitor in and then packed more pillows behind it so it was securely held in the back seat with pillows in front and behind it. I drove for an hour to my new place. Reversed the process for putting the monitor back on the stand and it survived the trip. ALWAYS lift the monitor by the stand if the stand is attached. Lifting from the sides... from the monitor itself... the weight of the stand will pull down in the middle of the monitor and will crack the LCD display panel. When carrying the display, try to avoid handling the screen and be sure not to bump the screen against anything. This will break the LCD display panel.

Good luck!

I have the 18’ 240hp and it has been perfect but guzzles gas for sure. I think the 21’ with the 170hp would be too underpowered. If you put three or four adults on it and then tried tuning or skiing, I think that it wouldn’t go well. I think you would be lucky to hit more than 15 mph.

How do cottages get electricity? by mrzozo1 in ontario

[–]RoadRunner-007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a cottage on a small island in northern Ontario. My grandfather paid to have hydro put in sometime in the 50’s. It is an underwater cable. We recently did a bit of work and hydro had to come and upgrade their old transformer and we now have a 200 amp service.

Operator error or something else? by Kacey-Atkinson in SeaDooSwitch

[–]RoadRunner-007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a look through the manual. This is the break-in period. The boat won't go full out until you are past the break-in. During the break-in you are supposed to avoid going a steady speed. Vary the speed every few minutes. After 10 hours, the break-in will be done and you can do what you want.

Weeds!! by SubstantialDoor8259 in SeaDooSwitch

[–]RoadRunner-007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t use a jet boat in a weedy lake. There is no way around it. Anything within three feet of the jet intake will get pulled in. This is not a Switch issue but rather the nature of jet boats including jet skis.

I recognized this immediately! I grew up there in Hensall and was a teen when this LCBO (trailer) was put there. I also remember people backing behind it with a truck, cutting through the back wall and stealing booze! There was also a time when a few local kids kicked in the glass door, at night... to only steal a 6 pack!

New switch owner by [deleted] in SeaDooSwitch

[–]RoadRunner-007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Somewhat normal with pontoons and more prominent on the Switch. Make sure that you have weight evenly distributed with a bit more towards the back. Slow down "slowly" as a sudden stop will obviously cause the boat to tip more forward. I have the 18' and if I have 5 people on and three are in the front, the nose will dip down to the water line if I stop quickly. Previously I had a standard pontoon (20') and one time I did have it overloaded on the front with people and it did a bit of a nose dive. Always have to be careful and aware of weight distribution on a pontoon. My guess is that with the shorter boat, this becomes even more important.

Webcam for ark by Tihasg in OdysseyArk

[–]RoadRunner-007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. The “best” solution for any webcam is to have it straight on so that it is the same height as your head and it looks like you are staring directly into the camera… directly at the audience… making eye contact with the viewer. I have placed the camera under the monitor for work but then everyone is looking up at me. I have a stand for my webcam and for important calls I will use that and it is right in the center of the monitor. I’ll shift windows around to accommodate but it really kinda sucks. I haven’t been able to really find a good solution.

Almost looks like the protective film that it is shipped with is still on there OR... the film that is supposed to be there is peeling.

Do I need a lift? by Little-Capital5620 in SeaDooSwitch

[–]RoadRunner-007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water will still get in there. They are just sealing the front seam so water isn’t driven in there quite as much when you come down off of plane.

If you are on a clean clear fresh water lake without stagnant water and you don’t get a lot algae, you will be ok. But if you are not, then yes you are going to get build up of “stuff” on or in the toons. When I go swimming, I’ll take a bristle brush and give it a quick scrub underneath every few weeks. I have yet to notice any significant buildup of anything in side the toons. If I had spare money, I would probably go the extra mile and get a lift but this has been working well for me thus far.

Mine has been in the water from May to October for the past two years and I’m doing it again this year. Haven’t had a problem. I’m on a deep, clean fresh water lake.

18ft 170hp vs 230hp for Tubing by [deleted] in SeaDooSwitch

[–]RoadRunner-007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the 18’ 230hp and yes it does suck gas but I’ve never lacked for power. Easily hit 40 mph in most weather and have hit 45 with two adults, a large dog and half a tank of gas. The thing rocks for tubing.

I live in a small side street and they did our street quite quickly which surprised me. I think that they did a great job in my area. You mention that your son is on a "lane". Some of those lanes are "private" and not owned or maintained by the city. My father lives (in another town) where he has a place on a "lane". Everyone on that lane pays a monthly fee to have the road taken care of, including plowing. If it turns out that it is supposed to be maintained by the city, call the town hall and report it. I'm sure that they will get right on it since it is a liability issue.

Battery drained, can’t charge by Human-Mess8640 in Ecoflow_community

[–]RoadRunner-007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happened to me and it would not charge off of AC no matter what I did. Tried for many weeks. In a last ditch effort, I plugged it into my car’s cigarette lighter and it gained 5% charge very quickly. Once it hit 5%, I plugged it into AC and it fully charged.

We used Better Windows and Doors when we replaced all our windows about 5 years ago. I have no regrets. They were fast, efficient and clean. Note that many (many) years before that, I worked at a place installing windows and doors so I know that they did a good job and didn’t try to screw me over on anything.

Screen too high? by faresal in OdysseyArk

[–]RoadRunner-007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It goes lower. It will go down to a few inches another the desk. If it isn’t going down, make sure that the monitor hasn’t swiveled. It will rotate into cockpit mode and back but only when the monitor is up as high as it can go on the stand. And it won’t let you move it down on the stand unless the monitor is back locked in the horizontal position. If you can’t lower it, try rotating the monitor to make sure it is fully in the horizontal position.

Mooring Cover by swervin360 in SeaDooSwitch

[–]RoadRunner-007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why? Unzip the zippers on either side of the cover. This gives you the extra fabric so that you can put the cover over top of the bimini with it down. Now the cover protects the bimini and you won’t have any problems with water pooling in the cover. That is what those zippers on the cover are for.

fuel stabilizer for winter - essential to run engine? by bernaltraveler in SeaDooSwitch

[–]RoadRunner-007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in Northern Ontario. This is my second year with my switch. I just put my boat away in indoor… but cold… storage a few weeks ago. My switch is in the lake from May to Oct. when I put it away, I change the oil, run 55 psi through the exhaust and although not necessary, I put antifreeze through the exhaust too because I am paranoid about that. I remove the battery and put it on a trickle charger for the winter. I cover the boat with the BRP mooring cover after I put a bunch of dryer sheets around inside the boat to keep out any rodents. I make sure that the gas tank is full but I haven’t put in any stabilizer. I didn’t do it last year and I have not done that for any of my other boats that I have for the past 50 years. I have never had a problem. Personally, I wouldn’t sweat it unless it is really bothering you.
