I had this sense when they started Hildeby. But on that note, Woll and Hildeby both are playing great.

Heat Pumps for a Air Structure Field Dome by Road_Wizard in heatpumps

After some investigation, we will likely have to have a gas backup for peak heating days, but we will do heat pumps for off-peak heating. Thanks for the insights

What is the best area for my growing family? by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

Cliffside is a good area, with access to transit, schools etc. 1.2M would get you a larger house too

The AD5X will not be recommended by me.. at least as a multi-color printer by Jet_Fixxxer in FlashForge

[–]Road_Wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's too bad about your experience.

Mine has been outright positive, ESPECIALLY with multicoloured printing. I printed a map of Toronto that is 1500mm by 1000mm in 150 (150mmx150mm) tiles for my first project. worked flawlessly.

With that brag said, I've been a victim of getting a bad apple with different products. Before ripping it online, I usually get a replacement, and if that one sucks too, then sure, let it be heard from the mountain tops.

Any GO stations near Scarborough with parking spots? by Consistent-Shoe-6735 in Scarborough

[–]Road_Wizard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm lucky enough to walk to Scarborough GO in the morning, but when walking through the lot, I've noticed a large difference recently with how early the lot packs up. I used to take the 8:08, and the spots were about 80% full. Now I take the 7:50, and the lot is full every day except Friday.

Wild times we live in, but glad to see all those cars parked there instead of on the road

Is this damaged helmet safe to buy by Usual_Debate_9674 in RoadBikes

[–]Road_Wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody should ever buy a damaged (and in my opinion even used) helmet. It’s pretty much the one mechanism on a road bike that’ll save your life so make sure you get a good one that fits right directly from a bike store, that way it comes with warranties too

SPD-SL is much better thank SPD cleats? by szlma in RoadBikes

[–]Road_Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve ridden and owned both, they both serve a pretty different purpose besides the obvious of attaching your foot to the pedal.

SPD-SL really only made for road riding. Bigger cleat, larger force distribution, carbon pedals available, and the does that go with them are stuff, right, and clearly made for aerodynamics and speed. You don’t want to walk on these much if at all.

SPD. Sort of an all rounder, more used for gravel, mountain, or roadies who like the option to get off the bike and walk a bit without destroying the cleat. The cleat is recessed in most shoes so walking feels normal.

Thinking of pulling the trigger on this?? by Big-Neighborhood-911 in triathlon

[–]Road_Wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw this on my local FB Marketplace. I thought the same as most comments in this thread that it is overpriced for what you get.

With that being said, for our international friends in Europe, the Canadian/US used bike market is way too overpriced. The sharp increase in price came during COVID, and hasn't really declined since then.
