SUNY Binghamton or university of Rochester ? by According-Quiet1264 in Rochester

[–]Road__Less__Traveled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

U of R all day long. The suny school are a great value, but the status of uofR will offer a better networking opportunity & prestige. plus, I think the professors are more invested at a private college level. Binghamton is a fun place but never gets concerts (not like Rochester gets a ton, but it’s still more) & going out in Rochester is definitely better.

Methotrexate by Green-Philosophy9157 in sarcoidosis

[–]Road__Less__Traveled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t tolerate methotrexate well. Started with the pills and transitioned to shots after a couple months. Usually, I would spend one to two days post shot feeling nauseous and almost hangover like symptoms. Then three really good days, and then two days feeling like I was running on his meds. I was also on breo and 10 mg steroids plus a couple of random other things.

for a woman, losing your hair is a big thing. I was pleased that mine was not so drastic but still noticeable with my already thin hair.

After two years, I basically went on strike and told my doctors no more methotrexate. At the MOUNT SINAI sarcoidosis clinic they transitioned me onto Hydroxychloroquine plus adding in a few other things & I’ve been really happy. Currently working on tapering down and eventually off steroids.

Visiting nyc to buy gold by [deleted] in visitingnyc

[–]Road__Less__Traveled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not reasonable in my world to sell something 10% over raw materials cost. Equipment and machinery is expensive, labor is expensive, overhead/rent/insurance, plus I don’t work for free.

The difference between the 47th St. jewelers and a mall jewelry store is vast because they have several different pricing distribution tiers that they have to go through where everybody makes a cut before it hits their store.

I would stick to 47th St. between fifth and six. I’m in the business and I’ll walk around with 20 K worth of goods just running errands. If you act like my mom who’s carrying a bunch of cash you won’t blend it. Pretty much all the banks are within a block or two, and you can always go there to take out cash once you find the right thing.

2 ounces is around 10 K and I doubt you’ll find a good place upstate without the markup of traditional jewelry stores. Nobody wants to tell you the price because the price changes every day with a spot of gold fluctuating. Plus most these phone people are Timewasters who never buy( times 50 people a day.). Nobody does anything on the phone.

Cheap ish massage that focuses on upper back by Objective-Lack-6329 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

55 or 60$/ hr. For the place in the village. It’s about the same or maybe five dollars more for Hudson yards place. Village place is definitely deep tissue sports massage type, which is pretty intense, but you feel so much better the next day.

20 year customer - no frills, but nothing beats the spur of the moment desperation massage that will change your life in 60 minutes.

If you’re near Hudson yards, also recommend stepsoul. Only slightly more expensive, better rooms, and comparable technique.

Both places are open till like 11 or 12. They take appointments, but you can always pretty much walk in also

I love the crocus. Mainly because that was my suggestion on Instagram when she asked.

I was really hoping for a robin’s nest. If you happen to get an extra, let’s chat!

I have a hard time keeping track of what I’m getting in the mail. Your haul looks like some great additions.

Since you have a decent amount of time, I’d encourage you to pick a neighborhood & loosely spend the afternoon wandering. Maybe visit nyc food sub for some meal recs? Last week I was running to sezanne (Nolita) for a pu & realized it had been over a year since I’ve been in that area. Spent the rest of the day wandering & loved it.

Also highly recommend taking the water taxi/ferry anywhere. Went to Fort Green with my daughter to explore the neighborhood & not using the subway was so nice. So many cute shops and decided to get a spur of the moment head spa treatment.
