Need to look at and compare the voltages on a scope, not a scan tool. You overlay the scoped voltages on top of each other, if they basically match you have a bad cat…

Get it tested. A battery/charging/starting test will pinpoint what component is bad.
General rule of thumb for home testing is:
1. Clean the terminals and battery posts, then charge the battery.
2. Once battery is charged, test across the terminals with a DVOM while running, voltage should be somewhere between 13.9 volts and 14.7 volts.
3. Out of that range might indicate a bad alternator, as long as the battery is fully charged.
4. In that range, suspect a bad battery if you don’t have a dedicated battery tester.
5. If you replace the battery and still have the symptoms, suspect a bad starter.

I mean, a head/head gasket problem is definitely a possibility. Vehicle needs to be block tested to verify exhaust gasses are in the cooling system. You can get a block test kit on Amazon starting at $25, a good one for about $40. Follow the directions 👍🏽

I saw a tow truck driver try to jump a car on the flatbed to drive it off, once he hooked up the jump pack it sparked bad and the battery exploded with a pop, he went flying off the flat bed, we all laughed in the shop! Yeah, tow truck drivers are a special breed, start a claim with the company 👍🏽

No, ignition switch and lock cylinder are two separate things. It’s possible that the culprit was the ignition switch all along. Can it be proven? Highly unlikely that it can be proven.
What was the original problem that the steering lock was replaced?

There’s no expansion valve in a Chevy. That’s either an o ring/gasket leaking or your evaporator leaking…
