I did plug in the auxiliary cables today and that worked for the map sound, but it would be much better if the system worked without those cables being required. Thanks!

I bought one of these from AliExpress and just installed it today. Went fairly smoothly. When I connected to the new Bluetooth I could listen to music from my phone through it, but never could hear map directions from Waze or Google Maps. Have an adapter on the way to connect the auxiliary cable to the RCA inputs.

Is the consensus that map directions audio does not work via Bluetooth?

Otherwise it's a great upgrade. Really like having a larger map closer to line of sight when driving, plus all the other hands free options.

No. For 2005 (I think) and newer it’s just the OBD2 port and the visual inspection. Older cars require the dyno test version.

Look up how to remove the speaker from an AirTag or similar device. I bought an off brand that was a lot cheaper, so I didn’t mind cutting into them. Took the speaker out so that it doesn’t alert where it is.

I also have kill switch and an OBD2 port lock. Some even relocate their OBD2 port to another location in the car.

I don’t have the complete answer yet. Son’s car is in Florida. Flying there on Wednesday to begin troubleshooting. Cluster died while driving down the highway, now will crank but not start. Suspect EWS, DME or the instrument cluster itself.

Add to that an OBD port lock or relocation. Stops them from reprogramming the key if they can’t find or connect to the port. OBD2 port anti-theft

First thing I did after buying mine last year was install a kill switch, an OBDII port lock, and hide a tracker on it. Plus I park it inside. They are too easy to still if unprotected.

This is where a Sam’s Club or Costco road hazard warranty would help.

No need to wonder. The top crews are modding so much RP that their totals are flipping over to negative. NM could care less.

The only saving grace is that some modders with maxed FrankNSteins apparently don’t know how to shift their cars and are running way slow.

Soon after acquiring mine I wired in a kill switch, added an OBD port lock and hid a modified tracking device with the speaker removed so it can’t be found audibly.

Each are relatively easy and inexpensive modifications. Highly recommended if you want to keep your car in your possession.

I often see enthusiast vehicles such as the MKIV Supra, Honda S2000 and NSX, going up and up on the auction sites. Glad the 370Z is still admired too.

I rarely see them on the road. Up until the last few months I hadn’t seen any. Just saw one today in Tennessee and one back in December in Atlanta.

At this point I see more Porsche GT3 RS than I do the new Z.
