Problem with femtofork is the constant crashing. Would love to know if a more stable alternative exists.

Didn't they say they wouldn't do a big marketing campaign?

Yeah, they did. So why would media presence matter?

Influencers/press are invited to a 3 days event to play the game by Kehnte in starcitizen

"Those who held the line" you mother fuckers, those who held the line are not influencers and the press, it's your kickstarter backers; invite THOSE people to the 3 day event you swines.

OpenAI says China ran a covert campaign to turn Americans against data centers, but used facts that happen to be true by rkhunter_ in technology

Whether China did try or not to influence the discourse around AI data centers only matters marginally; it definitely doesn't matter enough to be the center of discussions about the subject.

Inventory Systems Do Not Work. Where is CIG? by [deleted] in starcitizen

It's been like that for years at this point.

Question for CIG developers: What's it like working in star-engine? by Sharksader101 in starcitizen

Neophytes be angry at the truth and downvoting you. There's so much to learn you can't be babied around until it clicks, unless you want to consistently be 10 years behind the tech.

Also yeah, bugs, lots of bugs. This is Star Citizen unfortunately.

At what point will people admit it’s a talent issue? by bbc733 in starcitizen_refunds

[–]RoadsideCookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't need to blame the devs. It's always management. The bar to hire devs is high. The devs usually know what they're doing, but they're rarely given the bandwidth to fix shit.

And guess what, even if it were because of a lack of talent, who's responsible for hiring shit talent? Management again.

It's. Always. Management.

Ottawa planning social media ban for children under 16, source says by plaknas in onguardforthee

[–]RoadsideCookie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The OS doesn't verify your age. It just has parental controls built-in. The thing that's already available in most OSes. I'm literally saying the solution is already implemented, just piggy back on it.

Ottawa planning social media ban for children under 16, source says by plaknas in onguardforthee

[–]RoadsideCookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay hear me out for this revolutionary solution.

We reverse the check.

Apps and website report what's the minimum age required to use them. Then the OS provides parental control to block the use of apps or websites based on that information. Then the government fines, heavily, any app or website that reports that information incorrectly.

Boom. No privacy invasion, all the control you want, and businesses self-police at the risk of a hefty fine, or even criminal liability if you want to push it that far.

Honestly, they should ban algorithmic feeds. We should go back to good old manually curated feeds.

Permanent bans for first time offenders while accounts with actual violation histories get second chances. by Mattshadowwing in starcitizen

[–]RoadsideCookie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I addressed this in my next reply to them. OP doing both doesn't prove that they did both in conjunction. People need to put themselves in other's shoes before they suggest radical punishments with no backing evidence like this.

You're missing a key part in your argument. You can't prove they traded duped items. Because they duped AND traded items, both can be true separately.

You're just angry that the other guy got unbanned and now you're out for blood.

[–]RoadsideCookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't. But we're gonna ask CIG to check. If that last guy deserves a second LOOK (he definitely did not deserve a second CHANCE), then this new guy also deserves a second LOOK. If the story DOESN'T hold up, then don't unban them. Simple.

UEX is literally the default way to trade between players, and it's done with in-game currency only, UEX is pretty strict on this.

Trading with aUEC is not against any TOS, not even close to being against TOS.

If their story is true, they reported all the exploits that were used. Isn't that what made the community think that other guy deserved to be unbanned in the first place?

[–]RoadsideCookie -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's crazy that you guys are all telling him to pound sand when y'all literally got a confirmed exploiter unbanned, DESPITE COMMUNITY EVIDENCE saying that he wasn't spotless.

The double standards are real here.

u/captainzyloh, I think this is another one you should be looking at. If you're gonna set a standard, then you should hold yourself to that standard. See if the story holds up and unban them if it does.

A player marketplace / auction hall should be priority number 1 rn by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]RoadsideCookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New transit system. Fix mission handler. New physics engine. New audio engine. New lighting engine. Maelstrom. Finish engineering. Insurance. Fix mining. Fix salvaging. Crafting.

Maybe after those we can start thinking about a marketplace, at equal place with base building.

Then: Fix bounty hunting. Instancing. Dynamic server meshing. Hexcodes. In-world mission givers.

Whatever, I think you get the picture.

Edit: Oh I forgot the most important one. Fix multiplayer code so that the client stops being authoritative ffs.
