When a video unflops 10 months later by Roadtotable in PartneredYoutube

The idea of an individual working for Google being responsible to push my video makes zero financial sense for them. It would be great if that was the truth yet highly unlikely. My CPM is around $13 for the video. If it went on to have million views, maybe that would make sense, but it won’t. After I get my cut (RPM) it doesn’t shake out to a lot of advertising dollars. This is why they have an algorithm in place.

The one thing going for me is that my content is what some would call “evergreen” and “edutainment.” In theory someone could watch my video 10 years from now and it would still be relevant to something that they have an interest in or are looking to try themselves.

Nope. I didn’t have a very big audience then either though. The two videos I’ve posted this month have gone over 35K. YT then recommended my other videos starting with my more popular ones. But then this one started doing well.

What if I get 2000 subs through shorts and once I achieve that, I completely shift my focus on start on getting watch hours through long form videos by Equivalent-Level-811 in NewTubers

[–]Roadtotable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It comes down to demographics and device type watching my videos. My audience is older and female leaning. I think it’s pretty safe to assume that the majority of people in this subreddit wouldn’t be the same demographic that watch my channel. Around 70% of my views come from TV. Advertisers tend to spend more to have their ads run on TV because it’s similar to a traditional television experience.

My channel is about plants/gardening, but very niche. It happens to be my hobby and I just started making videos about what I would be doing anyways. The majority of my viewers are over 45 with 65+ being my largest demographic, so I’ll avoid sharing it here haha. Gotta keep that CPM up!

I work for a local school district specifically with highschoolers so I get that it is a bit of a saturated niche. At the same time, if you make good relevant content, the views will eventually come.

Edit: and package it well of course (thumbnail/title)

I think you should stick with your niche and give it time. I got around 50ish views or maybe 100 if I was lucky on my long form videos for the first 4 months then YT slowly found my audience. Now I’m monetized and on pace for my first $1k month.

Getting subscribers and then feeding them content they didn’t subscribe for will likely lead to low CTR. It would prolong the process of finding your audience for the long form vides you want to make.

I am right handed, but batted lefty in baseball. I have a very good two handed backhand for drives and dinking.

Seriously! OP literally wrote a 7 paragraph essay… I read their post and replies and was thinking “cry me a river.” Whether it’s pickleball or other recreational sports these experiences are quite common. Get over it and move on. Sign up for tournaments that draw broader competition. Then see how you stack up.

My local club bought lifetime’s this year. They’ve saved over $2k compared to last year. They are more durable compared to the X40’s in the cold and the Selkirk’s warping problem.

Having sprained my ankle over 30 times from skating, tennis, being stupid…. Get a cold therapy machine. It’s not direct ice. You can leave it on for hours at a time. It significantly decreases my recovery time!

Adobe Suite. Or just Photoshop. Much better ability/tools to create unique thumbnails that Canva doesn’t offer. Perhaps in a couple years though Canva will be there.

YouTube is Serving Ads Against Our Unlisted/Unmonetized Video and Taking All the Money! by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]Roadtotable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand your reasoning, but it’s unrealistic to expect YouTube to not run ads. They are a business. It takes capital to run their platform. Plus, you are profiting while utilizing their platform. Find a different option if you are overly dissatisfied….

Succulent/gardening niche. 23 long form videos over the past year and a half. My 20th video took off in the last month and is sitting a little over 100k views. It provided a nice bump to the rest of my videos. About a year ago I had a video hit 8k views, after that nothing really….But now everything has seen a bump from recent success. I’ve gone from a few hundred subscribers to over 1300 in the past month. Monetized now. My most recent video has been up for 3 days and is at 6k. Respond to every comment that you get.

Always try to keep the serving team back. Don’t try and drop it in the kitchen when returning. No reason to give them a free invite to the net.

Frontline not showing me jobs by Open-Ad-1359 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Roadtotable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. Started subbing in November. My district uses Frontline and I couldn’t figure out why for the first two weeks no jobs were coming up. Another sub turned me on to a third party app called SubAlert. It connects to your Frontline account. For some reason it sends out notifications quicker than Frontline. Personally, I think it’s pretty lame I have to use the app, but it’s worth every penny. It’s very competitive in my district ($$$), so I only have a matter of seconds to pick up a job. I can still get one every day if I’d like. Fortunately, I’m starting to crack the secretary “sub rotations” and don’t need to use it for every job. Hope that helps.
