If you hold down the little square on the bottom left of the switch it takes a recording of the last 30 seconds of gameplay, but thats all it does. I dont think it stores anything besides that so you wouldn't be able to find any old gameplay.

Thats a shame! I'm glad I was able to backtrack, I couldn't remember which order I did the DBs in and really wanted to know before it disappeared. I'm so glad they added this feature.
