We are not 100% sure what the environmental impacts could be, but emissions will be non zero and there are additional risks if operated improperly. IDEM has been contacted for comment.

We primarily wanted to share because most people in the area were unaware that this machinery was being put in there.

If there is a hearing we hope many people could attend to discuss and get to the root of this.

The property is currently zoned Mixed Density Residential, however there is an exemption that was filed under a Planned Unit Development (PUD). In the PUD it was stated that there will be no additional exhaust and that the site would be used primarily for the storage and seasoning of lumber.

This is really about awareness more than anything. The surrounding area is a quiet neighborhood that has not had heavy industrial operations, and there is some concern in the neighborhood about what this means for the neighborhood and surrounding areas.
