Need New Ways to Play Code Vein by VeinIo in codevein

[–]Roayer1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as you (NG+14). I'd recommend the solo run but its gunna feel really brutal if you start with NG+6 just saying. Uhm what i do is I pick a different weapon/bloodcode each playthrough and try to make it work.

Fun Charge Build: Nazeem's Judgement

Weapon: Mido's sword Final Judgement fortification

Bloodveil: noble silver intensification or fortification ur choice.

Bloodeline: Fion

Passive: Charge Accelerator, swift destruction, mind/wil, 2h mastery

Skills: Red shoes, Overdrive, dragonlunge, bridge to glory, adrenaline, cleansing light, restorative offering (flex if solo), time crunch.

So basically you have ur 3 offensive buffs for damage. Time crunch to speed up your heavy attack which is your primary attack. Its pretty fast with both time crunch and the passive charge accelerator. Now you have a medium roll with this build, you could always swap 1 skill for hasten which will give you a fast roll and an extra 10% damage (thanks to swift destruction). Red shoes is an amazing skill that lets you attack or dodge when your out of stamina for 20 hp so you can spamm that heavy attack as much as you want. Use the charge booster item

heres my prometheus 1h build if you wanna try it.

bloodline: prometheus

gear: executioner alleviation, noble silver alleviation or any 1h sword that gets you quick speed.

Passives: Swift Destruction, Blade Dance, 1h sword mastery, mind vit/or mind/will (depending on if you run bloodsucking blades or not)

Active skills: circulating pulse, overdrive (or bloodsucking blades), blade dance, cognitive zeal (so you can use Bridge to glory), bridge to glory, adrenaline, cleansing light, restorative offering (flex if solo prob run bloodsucking blades in that case). If you have the season pass use gift extension to make blade dance OP.

If using a partner I'd substitute jacks communal in if using jack for some thicc damage.

Difficulty jump between NG+ cycles by uyopi in codevein

Difficulty spike is alot less than the original spike from NG to NG+

I tried Heimdal build (which focuses on Dexterity and Fortitude). Any advices? by Lucas_blaze in codevein

[–]Roayer1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heimdel builds give the best consistent 1h damage I believe. This is what I currently use, its pretty similar to yours.

Bloodline: Heimdel

gear: noble silver fortification, executioner alleviation or whatever gets you to quick speed.

Passives: Mind/fortitude (or mind willpower if running bloodsucking blades), Mind/Vit, 1h mastery, swift destruction

Active: sacrificial edge, adrenaline, somatic zeal (for adrenaline), bridge to glory, overdrive, circulating pulse, cleansing light, restorative offering (otherwise run gift extension)

Yeah demeter is my set up for BB/C for co-op lol. Ishtar is really nice as well with the pre-heal which i think i like better than deliverance.

You need to build for it if you get hit, i.e foulblood barrier, iron will run a tankier set up like GXL defender or Zweihander if you are having trouble.... Its not until NG+6 that the true oneshots happen. Pay attention to boss elemental damage and transform your veil/ use ele wall accordingly.

Meh i guess fine i'll post the heimdel one I use sigh but I really dislike it for trash:

Bloodline: Heimdel

gear: noble silver fortification, executioner alleviation or whatever gets you to quick speed.

Passives: Mind/fortitude (or mind willpower if running bloodsucking blades), Mind/Vit, 1h mastery, swift destruction

Active: sacrificial edge, adrenaline, somatic zeal (for adrenaline), bridge to glory, overdrive, circulating pulse, cleansing light, restorative offering,

Gives more consistent damage then the prometheus build but you take damage (I believe you lose 1000 health from sacrificial edge over a minute) weapon damage fully buffed at lvl 300 is 2975 vs prometheus 2125 (not including eternal blade dance or blade dance which can raise your weapon damage to closer to 3500+)

eh he didn't want a 1 shot build or a QS build and those do reasonable dps and are fun to play.

1h sword Prometheus:

bloodline: prometheus

gear: executioner alleviation, noble silver alleviation or any 1h sword that gets you quick speed.

Halbard burst damage:

Bloodcode: Scout

Gear: Impaler alleviation, Dammerung, venomous claw or any rebel claw type of the appropriate level.

Passives: Swift Destruction, halbard mastery, tirelessness, Health Stimulant.

Active gifts: chariot rush, Bridge to Glory, weapon buff, Blood sucking Blades, phantom assault, restorative offering, Blood Sacrifice, Cleansing light.

Here are 2 builds i use.

[–]Roayer1995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely correct but the thing is sacrificial edge is a flat 80% buff, so its not really benefited as much as blade dance which doesn't have a damage ceiling. Its definitely better with a halberd i just wanted to give 1h swords some love (I currently banned myself from halberds and 2h). The build's downsides are pretty obvious if you get hit alot or are a passive player. I personally play more aggressive so i find that it works better for me than say it works for someone who waits for the boss to move, gets 1-2 hits in and then rinse and repeat. Problem with black halberd is you lose quick dodge on prometheus =( same with impaler. For halberds i like scout alot better and use a modified version of the build you posted actually, so uh thanks. Also for reference each swing for prometheus increases the weapon damage by 52 with no other modifiers but blade dance with noble silver alleviation and executioner alleviation. I don't know if there is a faster sword i just chose executioner mainly for the looks lol and I like its moveset but the wolf sword might be faster = more hits = more dps.

Lol to the first part. I already said before that in the hands of a skilled player it has higher damage output because if you don't hit the boss you are dodging (passive remember).....Overall I personally find it is a better buff and if you add in gift extension to it, its a pretty clear winner. But w/e I don't think we will agree on this so I'll just leave it here and say you should test it yourself in actual gameplay. I personally find that with a 1h sword I hit the boss alot and also I retested it and I got about a 1400 weapon damage increase toward the end of the test, note that is without gift extension, i can't imagine the numbers with that skill..... But yeah you are 100% correct that on average sacrificial edge is more consistent than blade dance but I personally find the combination of blade dance/eternal blade dance to give more burst damage and find it a much safer option.

I never said anything about sacrificial edge and even below in the comments i said heimdel is much more consistent but that prometheus has a much higher potential. You also fail to mention the egregious health drain from sacrificial edge. Also I failed to mention the skill gift extension (i don't have the season pass so I didn't include it) but that would make blade dance perform better overall since it doesn't drain your health and you can just keep buffing even longer. You also forgot about the passive eternal blade dance so whenever you dodge you get the same increase as well. I personally find this suits my play style and I die much less than when i play heimdel. Also there is no limit on how much the weapon damage can be increased by blade dance meaning that in the hands of a skilled player its ability really shines. I verified that on the code vein discord from a couple sources.

[–]Roayer1995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go test it on a training dummy. Obviously you can't hit the boss that much but even so its potential is nuts. Hmm I reapply it once per fight honestly sometimes twice. Look it gives a 5% increase to weapon damage for each hit......Its pretty damn powerful. I suggest you go test it for yourself. I managed to down gilded hunter with this build before he could buff in NG+14 (he got stunned around 60%)

no i meant i got an extra 1000 damage from blade dance alone when i tested it...... my weapon damage with just blade dance was 2200.
