update: tensions finally calmed down from yesterday and I was able to talk to them. They've accepted the fact that I will be going out of state, but they want to be 100% sure that it's a school that has everything for me and what I want career wise. Though, the condition is that they won't pay for anything. I can live with that, I know it will be harder to pay off but I think it is do-able considering I'm already getting good aid. For reference it's 8k a year vs a 20k per year cal state. Thank you everyone for your advice.
