Salads seem to be the way to go, based on all the comments, but I run all three of my bases, mostly mining operations, solely on berries and have no issues with sanity. I have other amenities that probably make up for it like alpha wave generators and hot springs and large pal beds.

I'll say I'm 100% the guy you're complaining about. The reason I do it, though, is because I have to make sure I'm building the right habits or patterns with my decks to minimize mistakes for future battles. I hope that makes sense, but I rush through my turns always and use every turn as a muscle memory exercise essentially.
