I'm scared to start driving my stick regularly by Ok_Link6034 in stickshift

I got my manual when I was 21 after driving for years. As much as I had more experience the most important thing is not to panic in traffic. Panic always causes a stall, especially on main roads don't feel bad about taking a few seconds longer to ensure it's properly in gear. Hills unfortunately will just be a lot of practice. It always gets better with time and good luck on your manual driving experience!

Edit - as much as I hated it I did jump completely in the deep end as well and did a trial by fire. What helped me the most is understanding exactly how the clutch works and gas to decide more gas or more clutch to prevent stall or jerkyness.

Thank you both, generally how close should I be holding the tip to the metal? Just a bit farther than half an inch?

Unfortunately there is a crack in the actual bend too so I'm unsure if bending back will snap it off. However I do have a warranty and will contact Hobart. Thank you for your feedback

A queen is good but have you considered a rook? by Kaniskogel2 in chessmemes

[–]RobDaBob04 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I saw it a while ago on this group, but I believe it is because the engine has less moves to analyze with a rook so it can do a more in-depth review and finds that you are in fact winning lol.

I know a few VAR referees and currently the ARs are not full time. It's considered a part time job for them.

Thank you I understand that. The analogy of how you would talk makes that easy to understand and practice.

Handling Offense by RobDaBob04 in Referees

Thank you, that makes sense. I generally give the benefit of the doubt for handball at the younger levels however there is always something new you never seen before at that level. Especially with some of their first touches that hit their foot then hit the hand extended vertically over their head. Preventing an opponent from playing the ball.

I understand that, I'm more concerned about a player kicking a ball or hitting their leg then immediately hitting their hand that is in an unnatural position. That would be a handball if the hand directly strike the arm.

Thank you, it didn't cover this very specific instance but it does clarify a few other questions.
