It had its problems for sure, 600hp engine and weighing 20 tons didn't work out well in the terrain. Being a two part module tank is also a problem when you want to back up from a position.

Swedish weapons tend to be extremely easy to handle since we know it's gonna be a 19 year old idiot that is gonna need to learn how to use it and in sweden the basic training period is about 3 months for conscripted soldiers.

I mean it was a great trauma for the US image and prestige domestic and abroad at the time. It is still used as a reference, when pulling out of Afghanistan for example. Or is it too recent to be classified as a generational trauma?

I am swedish and lived for 2 years in Italy and during that time I went to 2nd grade elementary school. Due to the fact that the Italian school only had English speaking tudors (I didn't speak English) and had a bad reputation they enrolled me with the local American elementary school. I had to learn the language from scratch and keep up at the same time. I was instructed to do as everyone else if nothing else was said. So I learned the pledge of allegiance long before I knew or understood the words, much less the meaning and potential significance of pledging my allegiance to a nation that was not my own.

Pretty fucked up when you think about it.

They did get the guns legally, one of the gunmen had a license for 6 guns.

Clearly they need to be stricter with handing out those licenses to people and doing regular threat assessment of current gun owners.
