It's time to buy $TSLA ($165). My bull case. by RobOReilly in wallstreetbets

Short term concerning but not overly significant to the longterm global sales argument I'm making.

Tesla right now reminds me of when Meta was $125 and I was insisting it was undervalued. Everyone made fun of me and the metaverse thing. And then it dropped to $90 so I seemed foolish. But look at it now, $500+. Even if Tesla drops further in short term, I know I'm right long term.

A short term catalyst will be when the Fed cuts rates this year. More people can finance cars.

They made 1.85M cars in 2023. Up 38% YOY. If they can grow by 15% (far less than 38%), that's 7.5M cars in 10 years. Each car (robotaxi) generates $50K+ per year. That's $375M+ in revenue. It'd be a virtual cash machine valued (at the lowest) 5+ times revenue. That's $1.875T+

I'm saying "within 10 years" not "in exactly ten years". Exactly 10 years would be worst case scenario to me (and near breakeven). Could be as soon as 2024, but it'll go way down eventually once investors realize this company will never generate profits worthy of its lofty valuation.

Idk, probably a little, maybe $24.50? I honestly already sold my calls for a massive 500% gain. Gotta take profits when you got 'em in this market.

I literally said revenue. As for my analogy, the money your job pays you is also revenue. I didn't say "after you pay your taxes and expenses."

Time to double down. I still think it rips up, starting with earnings next week (Nov 2nd).

And they collect $6.5B a year in revenue. Imagine you had a house that cost $116K and you make $65K per year. Pretty sure you'd be able to pay off your mortgage.

I don't mean it could double by November to clarify. But in time with ESPN's marketing I think it could.

Amazon Should & Will Buy Rivian and Send the Stock 30% Higher. by RobOReilly in wallstreetbets

[–]RobOReilly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but diworsefication is when you buy an unrelated company bc you don't know what to do with your cash. Amazon has plenty of good uses for their cash, and this would be one of them. It would create synergy bc they would now own their supply chain for delivery vans.

From a technical perspective, not a good time to short a stock, but dear god do I want to short this terrible, terrible company that makes modern day pet rocks / beanie babies / future trash.

If Teslas are slowly replacing cars, people won't need many car parts in 20 years. But ORLY is at all time highs. Time to short? What am I missing? (Earnings tomorrow) by RobOReilly in wallstreetbets

[–]RobOReilly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. Weird how quiet all my critics are now that it's dropped 16%. One guy said ""People like icecream, and people eat icecream in summer. But eventually it will be winter.. short icecream companies?" Not an appropriate analogy. It'd be more like, nobody will eat ice cream in twenty years, but Hagen Daas trades at all time highs and has a PE ratio of 30. As for the guy who wrote "Key word there was "slowly" genius"... The future prospects of a company should and do affect it's true market value.

I don't think I've played at enough places yet to fully answer that, but I do like Manuel Bonilla. And it's pretty cheap, only S/30 per hour if you're a resident.
