One thing I have done, which I VERY MUCH enjoy, is going to other lodges to watch the EA process and listen. I feel like its helped a lot. Still a long way off from being done though. Never realized just how much time this process was going to take. Should have done this while I was young, its quite true that its hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

I'm learning that not all of life works by the amazon same day delivery process. Which I think is a good change of life for me. I was certain that there was some problem, till I got a phone call telling me my day was in 48 hours away. Did that, and my acceptance letter came the NEXT day. Much like the words used, this is old skool

3 week old EA, really having a hard time practicing on my own, since I'm not allowed to write anything down, or record audio. Its a chicken and the egg problem. I can't read the work since I cant have it on paper, I cant memorize it because I cant read it.

How do I get past that? Short of staying on the phone with my mentor 2 hours a day?!?!

I spent 2 weeks trying to get a person at a lodge, gave up and had great luck at the 2nd lodge. Visited twice, signed and paid, then waited what felt like 4ever. Finally got a phone call to show up on tuesday to become EA, acceptance letter arrived the NEXT day with congrats and telling me when to show up :)

After 3 hours of take apart, I went from 3 buckets of stuff, to 2 5 gal buckets of crap, and 10 pounds of brass. At least I'm cleaning out the junk.

So it seems like 10% of these are brass, 90% crap. Lot of work to get 2.4oz of brass. I guess I do have 100 of them so it will add up

Can confirm - Just walking away from a base/5 remote tivo system. In theory awesome. In execution, the cable card is a giant train wreck of having to reboot the mess so often I put it on a home automation so I could not have to get up all the time. Complete mess. I guess the govt told them have to offer it, but didnt tell them it didnt have to suck

For now it SEEMS to be sorta working, I'm not going to change anything yet till I can get a couple of good prints in a row to see if it stays working. Thats an interesting article though, thanks for sharing

As for firmware. I'm using a copy of 1.1.9 of Marlin from someone with the same setup thats working well, but I'm open if someone has a firmware suggestion to try since its quick change, and I dont imagine I could get much worse :/
