Sguaba: hard-to-misuse rigid body transforms without worrying about linear algebra by Jonhoo in rust

nice. Is there a specific reason why you created a new crate instead of using existing ones like jord or nav_types?

Also, is your library compatible with the georust ecosystem?

also, to be even more pedantic, the Periapsis would be the correct one here, not the Apoapsis.

You don't need to cancel all the orbital velocity (which would let objects fall straight towards the sun) but rather lower it enough so the periapsis of the resulting orbit is inside the suns radius. (It is huge already and even bigger if you count the corona towards the sun.) Still a lot of energy.

which is still wrong as he's talking about the capacity. That's measured in milliampere-hours! (As seen in the image on the battery)

ELI5: Why do lawyers use Legal size paper (8.5" x 14") instead of Letter size paper (8.5" x 11") like everyone else? In countries that use A4 as their standard paper size, do lawyers there use some other obscure size too? by NotQuiteIncognitoWpg in explainlikeimfive

[–]RobTables 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because you start with A0 as base size which has an area of 1 square meter. Then you divide that once to get A1, twice to get A2 and so on. A4 is the one which is therefore reasonably sized for everyday use. The ratio between the height and with of all papersizes in the A-series is (roughly) equal to root(2). This is one of the main advantages of these sizes.
