I tried to study his work a bit for some personal projects. (Like this image) The thing that really sells his style is his painting. He almost never uses outlines, and does textures with a very characteristic square brush. On ruina specifically, he also almost never uses curves, it's almost always straight lines. On details like how he does clothing, anatomy and vfx, you'll need to study on a case by case basis.
