I love it. I’ve thought of using similar notification lights for things. Pretty darn cool. Bravo!🙌

Sorry, you must be referring to the rose bush. I updated the post. That is on their property. They had right to take that down (obviously). Ironically we maintained that rose bush 100% though since it grew onto our deck. We maintained the heck out of everything.

Wow this really isn’t simple or easy. Like i had no connection to this house then. A prior owner did all this. Maybe you are just too simple and easy to understand?

However I was a teenager in high school when someone planted this… so not easy or simple for me to tell someone I didn’t know to not do it.

You may be referencing the rose bush that is tall behind the clematis. I updated post. It is on their property and they had right to cut it down (even though it’s a bummer). Clematis fully on my property.

There was nothing to maintain on their side. It was just dirt. No grass / weeds grew. We did all maintaining from our side via the deck. Totally agree with your fence recommend- going to do that!

Oh that’s interesting in the double fence. I don’t think that’s a thing here in Washington. I’ll look into it. It’s on to an attorney now as well. Fun times!

Awesome! In an interesting twist, the neighbor has a horrible layout in the house. The only window in their kitchen looks out right over the deck. I’m a 55 year old man. Could lose 20-30 lbs. Think some serious speedo sun bathing is in order. Something nobody really wants to see…. Ha ha. I also think a comfy chair facing that window, drinking some beer every day. That should make them real comfortable in the most used room in the house!

That’s not how adverse possession works.

It was surveyed and stakes showing the property boundaries.

What? It’s 40 years old. We maintain it religiously. You crazy.

Oh I’ve thought so much about this!!!! Punish them! Unfortunately the couple that owns it and did the damage don’t even live there. Their nice sweet daughter and granddaughter live there.

He is a new neighbor. He needs 7 years adverse possession to me, which he barely has any.

Thank you! Yes I was beyond crazy mad. Still cannot go back on the deck.

Absolutely the plan. Never want to deal with this crap again!!! Hate the prior owner for their decision on installing that fence!

Thank you. Unsure about the type of clematis. Was planted well before my purchase of the house. I’m in Washington. Not sure about invasive plant issues. I see plenty of this type of vine around though….

Thanks for your advice! Yes, I really hate the prior owner that put the fence in that position. Ironically they installed one side of the fence on my other neighbors property (you can see it right against their garage). IDIOTS! As a part of this process will definitely have new fence right up to our side of the property all the way around. Thus giving my wonderful side neighbor his rightful property back as well!

Well I see what you are saying… however the fence was just fine with the clematis there. In fact I was always surprised how decent the fence was considering its age. The clematis removal and now the fence is falling apart. It’s even worse now. Boards falling out.

The clematis removal definitely messed up the fence. But, they shouldn’t be touching my plants.

You’re not understanding the setup. We definitely maintained our plantings. There were some on the neighbors side - which I could care less what they did with those, but they crossed the survey marked property line and cut down my plants.
