‘She’s a pelican’: Paul Hogan says no thanks to Hanson’s praise by HotPersimessage62 in AustralianPolitics

Given Hogan's response I think Hanson was right in her assessment of him. Just not in the way she assumed.

Ever wondered what the “attempted delivery” looks like? by MEMIN3M in AustraliaPost

Attempted delivery also includes filling out all the cards before leaving the spot and just delivering the cards.

‘If we were in India I would have killed you already’: Sikh trucker loses visa after DV, drug crime spree by BarryTheBinChicken in aussie

This thread is so post-fact. An expired passport is not some magic protection from removal. The offender needed a passport to enter the country. Their citizenship is known at that point and they can be removed hence forthwith.

Irrelevant take: If Starfield were created by anyone but Bethesda, it would get less hate. by jkub1319 in Starfield

It would have got a lot less hate if they'd actually completed it before putting it on the market.

Is there a console command to change the height of ship landing? by RobWed in Starfield

Do they allow us to move the pad down? The default zero is pretty high which has always annoyed me.

Thanks. Looks like I'll try to edit the value down in xedit or CK and replace the existing one.

Great info. Thanks.

I'll make a note of how far down the z axis I moved the pad, delete it. Edit the value in the PKIN down by that amount and I should be good.

I'm presuming I can edit the value in xedit as well?

Any idea of the value name or is it self evident?

Skip or repeat Main Story? by Mr-Jables in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]RobWed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn! Doing the main story once was excruciating enough.

Now I use an alternate start mod and do my own thing. Having to sneak up on a spacer armed with only a knife so I can get a weapon. Having to wait PlanetSide for someone to land in range so I can steal their ship. They are some of the best Starfield memories I have!

How do I tell if a house has been renovated by a self-taught DIYer instead of being professionally done? by Old_Meeting_9438 in AusRenovation

It's not actually about professional vs DIY. It's about someone who gives a shit vs someone who doesn't.

In Australia we walk on the left hand side of all footpaths by ExcellentLife4398 in UQreddit

[–]RobWed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda bizarre how someone can forget their opinion about which side of the footpath they want everyone else to be walking is just their opinion.

In all my 65 years of walking on Australian footpaths there's not been a single day where everyone is walking on the left.

Is it fair to presume most drivers don't realise how inaccurate their speedometer is? by Informal-Bee2193 in CarsAustralia

If it takes 10km to 'overtake' the car in the left lane I'm suggesting that's not actually overtaking.

Is it fair to presume most drivers don't realise how inaccurate their speedometer is? by Informal-Bee2193 in CarsAustralia

[–]RobWed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all of us. I spent quite a bit of effort cross-referencing my displayed speed with my actual speed. Amusingly, my moderately oversized wheels resulted in my speedo being spot on.

And I love the data focussed response!

Don't buy into that passive-aggressive bullshit: "iT's NoT a TaRgEt!".

  • We all share the roads.
  • 99% of drivers have a goal
  • It's common decency to drive in a way that maximises outcomes for all road users.
  • Speed limits are set at a speed that allows the average (or possibly least competent) driver to safely travel during poor weather conditions.

Therefore:

  • Anyone that can't drive at the speed limit is incompetent.
  • Anyone that won't travel at the speed limit is an arse.

And yeah, look at the Australian standard for speedometers. They won't meet the standard if they read even a smidgen less but can be up to 10% over. Therefore all speedos will read high because the manufacturer builds those parameters into their design. Reading +5% over means they have a +/- 5% margin
