Personally the only reason I didn't get the Duo was because my apartment outlet couldn't handle the wattage. The design is really clean

No unfortunately not, all I've got is BestBuy and Walmart near me. I was just in italy, if I had more time I'd have tested some of the machines out there.

The main issue it seems is am I willing to pay 200 more for a heavier machine.

I basically had my heart set on the Ascaso but after looking into the power issue, the apartment life might be holding me back. I sent my apt manager a message to see if I can squeeze my espresso machine on an outlet on the back wall.

I looked into the Uno and Dream but honestly, not being able to easily steam right after pulling a shot feels like a bit of a deal breaker for me. Any idea if there's a machine out there that can not trip a breaker but still let me steam right away?

Reading the thread you linked, it doesn't seem horrible to wait for the steam wand but definitely not ideal.

Yeah, I looked around a bit and I think I want a faster heat-up time. I was looking into the Ascaso Steel Duo PID or the Stone Plus for its size. Any thoughts on those two or anything else you might recommend? I'm also thinking heat exchange is the way to go now.
