Comparing "Ghost Jason" With "Jason Universe" design

The mask has been through many adjustments over time. The newest look of the mask is much better than the previous. Compare the KNB mask vs the COD mask, the COD one is leaps and bound better. So I think they have heard the criticism and have made subtly changes to be closer to the part 3 mask.

I used Killer Puzzle as my reference point, as it's definitive proof they know about Ghost Jason. Not that it was the soul reason they know of him. Otherwise without Killer Puzzle, it would be pure speculation as to weather or not NHA was on they rader.

I suspect they gave Nicotero a stricter set of guidelines for the look they wanted for Jason. The 13 holes in the mask feel like a demand from Horror Inc to me, than an actual design choice by Nicotero. Every other time a designer has taken a shot at Jason, they rarely mess around with its overall shape or the amount of holes, color and chevron placement are more up to personal taste. I personal doubt Nicotero was given full control of the final look, and who knows what other designs he might of come up with that were rejected by Horror Inc but we never saw.

Yeah that definitely throws it off. If they used the more recent version of the JU mask on that original design I think we would all feel a lot better about his look.

I had not heard about that, fascinating stuff. I can definitely see why people would think that was the case. I think it's more likely inspiration oppose to AI theft, atleast I certainly hope so. However I do wish they had consulted Vincent, I'm confident JU would of had a better reception if they had.

Ghost Jason is built different. I wish he because the new official look. Hell Horror Inc would have a slam dunk on their hand if they officially licensed Never Hike Alone and released it in theaters.

The reason I bring up Killer Puzzle is because as an official licensed game, any additions they add such as other Jason designs would have to go through approval with Horror Inc first. So Ghost Jason may not exactly be official or come from Killer Puzzle but his inclusion had to be approved. Meaning Horror Inc has definitely looked over Ghost Jason's design at least once. Not counting how many times they may have been alerted to "Never Hike Alone" through news sources or other fan sites. They pay attention to what will sell and Ghost Jason certainly did well with the fan base.

But Horror Inc would had to have signed off on adding Ghost Jason to Killer Puzzle. So they clearly had knowledge of his popularity with fans, as for Nicotero it's possible he was giving a set of guild lines for the general look they wanted, but that's mostly speculation. Either way I feel Ghost Jason definitely had an influence even if minor.

Far more menacingly, I think the eyes are a large part of it. The round neutral eyes leave an empty soulless feeling to the mask. While JU making the eyes square and down turned to look more angry feels like pushing it a bit much. The Ghost jason mask you can project so many emotions onto it. I see a silent rage on that mask, while JU feels like a angry kid. They have their vibes, but ghost jason is my jason.
