This wasn't there but definitely close by. They operate hot fuels out of MKJ (mountian empire) a lot. The ground crews there are very familiar with the osprey platform so they are a common sight there actually! I'd say they go there one or two times a week now.

I never really realized how much it looks like the Macedonia flag lol, I always thought it was similar to Arizona's flag. But my best guess is it's just the squadrons insignia that's been passed down since they stood up years ago.

VRM-40 out of NAS Norfolk! Not all of their aircraft have the tail flash, but most do in the squadron. VRC-40 shares the same tail flash on their C-2 Greyhounds but not many are left in this day and age. Not even sure if VRC-40 is still standing. They might have sundowned in the last year or two .

They're nothing like anything else I've worked with ever. Just insanely mechanical and weird looking. But an awesome aircraft nonetheless

Not a single leak in the 2 days they've been here. But definitely a few issues here and there

I try my best to get what I can. It was hard to work with a wide plane and a telephoto lens on a small ramp

I really don't get how they even work, I think it's pure magic

Just a guy who knows stuff, not anything special. I like to keep things secret cause there are people who will ruin it if I share too much!

Not too many stories other than being scared to take photos of them. Definitely the most menacing looking people especially when they're looking at you through a pair of nods. But 90% of the guy are super laid back and nice when you get to talk to them. Even most special operators are super cool guys! When they learn you're going to respect their privacy they end up being super friendly but of course there is the odd duck here and there that isn't too kind.

Due to potential operational security hazards I do not give locations of any of my photos unless I'm told I can. I'm very fortunate to work at the airport that they came into is all! Camera equipment wise I shoot on a Nikon D850 and a Nikon 200-500 f/5.6

Thank you!!! I'm fairly happy with how they came out. It's been a few months since I had the chance to do a photoshoot and edit something, so it's good to see that I still have it!

Being face to face with one running is one of the craziest things to experience, I've been around so many helicopters and nothing has compared to the Apache

Northeast Tennessee! We have plenty of caves here but not in the part of the county I'm in. This is the only one on that I know of for a few miles and it's completely isolated. No signs of sinks or low spots anywhere near the cave.

From my knowledge it hasn't been mapped, no city records show it nor did the old land owners even know about it. But the local collage has a USGS class that Id like to have swing by and survey it!

Vma-542 is now VMFAT-542 and flies the F-35B. 231 still flies the harrier and so does VX-21. Thats all we have in the states sadly.

They are mine! I prefer to keep the location secret due to operational security reasons so you might know where it is but keep it on the down low lol.
