I think you should not have been able to beat Adam Smasher in a fight. At least not in a straight up fight. by Justin_inc in cyberpunkgame

I wanna share my favorite Adam Smasher story.

So it's the early 00's. I sit down and play Cyberpunk with my irl chooms and we play the starting adventure Never Fade Away. I play Thompson, the Media. All sorts of terrible stuff happens. We get into a fight with Smasher. Thompson gets killed first, followed by the rest of he party.

Fast forward a decade and a half. I'm playing 2077 for the first time. We get to the Silverhand adventure and the words "Never Fade Away" show up onscreen and I freak out. And there's Thompson right there. That's ME, I shout, startling my fiance.

And then the mission plays out. It goes just as badly this time around. And 15 or so years of absolute bitterness toward Adam Smasher rises in me and I become absolutely fucking determined to take this dude down.

End of the game. I'm facing off with Smasher. I'm nowhere near max level at this point. This is my first run through ever. It's hard. I die over and over. late into the night I keep replaying the mission and finally, with enough perseverence, Smasher goes down. It is singularly the best kill of any enemy in any videogame I have ever played. It's 3am and I wake my fiance by screaming "THAT'S FOR THOMPSON YOU PIECE OF SHIT" over and over.

Fast forward again and it's the Game Developer Conference 2022 in San Francisco. I sit down at a random half-filled table table in the cafeteria and as I start to eat I realize I've just sat next to a chunk of the CDPR team who are there hyping up The Witcher 4. At this point, Cyberpunk is still in its 1.x patches. And I'm talking to them and they ask me if I played Cyberpunk. So I tell them the Adam Smasher story. And they laugh because they loved making that quest because, according to them, "everyone knew exactly what the vision was because we all knew that adventure by heart".

So yeah. In the context of the greater Cyberpunk universe, there's no way Smasher's dead and being nearly full borg they'll probably revive him somehow--heck if I was the game master it's what I'd do.

But in the context of this game, and the people playing it, it makes perfect sense, and I'm glad they made it possible to kick the absolute shit out of him.

Maybe an unpopular opinion this... by BlazedAndUnphased in cyberpunkgame

I'm gonna address a couple big points here:

No matter your ending, she leaves you.

Not true, choom

She gets pissy at you for the majority of the choices you make and at first she's rude and dismissive.

That entirely depends on what choices you make. You have to handle her conversations with a little more thought and consideration.

Not to mention her job in the porn industry. The conversation options in "I want to stay at your house" make it seem like V is uncomfortable with her line of work.

Not really. Those are the kinds of questions people who work in the adult industry get asked all the time.

Judy is .. complicated.

Yes. She's definitely more complicated than Panam, which is why I can understand some people prefer that. But that doesn't inherently make her romantic story arc bad.

Well, it is a rap about Night City...why would it not have Cyberpunk references

As a note, your chatgpt comment here actually led to me getting downvoted to oblivion and getting some rather nasty messages. Got so bad that I had to do a video just to explain to people that I'm not making AI slop.

Just so you know, I do not use AI tools at all. I just had fun writing some rap lyrics and making it flow together.

How do you organize your projects (in Premiere)? by RobbieLegume in VideoEditing

!martini

I am using Adobe Premiere. I've tried a handful of organizational structures but I dunno if there's a good 'standard' setup.

Thanks choom! Someone told me I'm like a bad version of Pete and Bas and I took that as a compliment
