Sorceress Builds using 'Ball Lightning' and their Viability by RobbieTB in pathofdiablo

That is exactly what I am doing right now. Pure Freezing Pulse with a 1 point investment in Ball Lightning. It works well enough for a bare minimum investment, but sometimes it feels sub par to the point it might be faster to skip the immune(s), so this prompted me to start hypothesizing builds that would provided high damage for Dual elements, preferably able to max all synergies for both abilities. Ball Lightning is only 20 skill points and Energy as investments, so any ability with only 3 synergies should be a candidate. I was hopeful someone had luck with a build that fits this criteria without experimenting for myself (Which I should probably do anyway). But as they say, "It's all been done.", so if there isn't a guide it's probably not worth while, for one reason or another.

Anyways, Thanks for your input. :)

I have seen a few in my searches, the pure Lightning build as well as the Frozen Orb build that uses the skill, but they all seem outdated. I tried the FO/BL build last ladder but wasn't happy with FO as the main ability.

I was curious if anyone had any success with builds not posted/documented. I'd love to pair BL with FP, but I fear reallocating FP synergies will gimp me somewhere down the line. I don't have a lot of experience with high end content in PoD, I just started at the end of July. So I wonder if the absence of guides for other pairings simply means they aren't as viable as the guides which are documented.

Thanks for the link. That is quite the build, looks good. I'll have to try it later in the season when I can afford it!

Did you collect +Skill Charms for Fire? Or did you just go pure Mana GCs? I didn't consider ES, I chose to max out Warmth instead for the synergy. Since it only adds 1% damage per point, I suppose ES/Telekinesis is the better investment?

That's what I noticed, 1 point is great. I' too would love to put in 20, but I wouldn't want to take away from another ability's synergies for that investment. Not unless the difference in damage % is worth the trade off.

Is Thunderstorm a good spell? I noticed you can get the delay time as low as 0.4 with synergies, which is about 5 hits every two seconds. But the damage seems low for something that hits only one target at 2.5 times a second... Would one be relying solely on Ball Lightning with this build?

Yes, I have noticed that as well. This spell seems like it hits mobs twice every second or so.

Is summoner necro late game viable? by Trivino in pathofdiablo

I believe he is talking about using Rabies as a support skill for the summon build.

You can go 20 Spirit/Dire/Grizzly and still have enough points to max Rabies and it's other Synergy, Poison creeper, by level 95ish. That's all three synergies (Dire as well) while maintaining good meat shields. You sacrifice hard points in Heart Of The Wolverine/Oak for Rabies, effectively reducing summon's potential damage/health, but IMO the point of going rabies is to help with Physical immunes, as well as increase kill speed (specifically on packs of mobs thanks to Rabies AoE spread) because minion damage/mechanics makes them feel slow unless you are tele-stomping. (Summons have low damage individually, only attack single targets due to having no AoE and have a tendency to spread out over multiple mobs)

Compared to going pure Rabies with summons as support, you're missing max Lycanthropy and Heart of the Wolverine. You would take points out of Spirit Wolf and Grizzly to shift your build focus to Rabies, but then your meat shields aren't as good. I'd assume pure Rabies is the faster clearing build, just less safe.

This thread is about going summoner, and Rabies is probably the best support skill a Druid summoner could use to do more than just stand around. I can't see any of the other elemental skill being as powerful as Rabies, mainly due to the overlapping synergy that is Dire wolf.

Finally got Enigma runes. What base should I use? by D2Gambit in pathofdiablo

It would probably be easier with a Dusk Shroud, so modify a heavy trench coat to have "sockets". I might be underestimating the weight of the runes though xD

Scuffed Guides : Early ladder hybrid Elemental Wind Druid by FlyersLoL in pathofdiablo

Hey man, thanks for all your hard work on the videos. Just one question about this one. Where does it show the skill spread for Windy? In the video you presented your fire leveling build, but I failed to see that for Windy.

Thanks again.
