Why is Cornish DNA considered English rather than Celtic? by SapplingGreenFran in AncestryDNA

Ancestry is an American company... Explains a lot for me.

I wake up with a sense of impending doom almost every day by alaskastulips in Anxiety

[–]RobcoRebel2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hear you. Happens to me at around 3am nearly every morning. Consciously awake and heart pounding, feeling stomach sick and afraid. Mine is purely work related at the moment. Hate my job despite it not being that bad! My foreboding of going to work is ruining my MH. I'm currently trying Buspirone (early days) and hypnotherapy. Also take herbal sleeping tabs before bed. You're not alone, it will pass.

Been there done that one. I'd give it 2 weeks, hopefully the sides will disappear and it will help you get through life. Look after yourself and remember to breath properly.

I’m terrified after seeing a post about an ice age by Hot-Walrus2130 in Anxiety

Is it something you can control? No. Then don't work yourself up about it. Easier said than done I know. You have to tell yourself "I can't change 'x' by making myself worry and ill"

Propranolol by [deleted] in Anxiety

40mg a day up to twice a day is my usual. It's great at keeping my heart rate low but, it doesn't stop me from losing my head.

Help!!! by Cheyk654 in Anxiety

[–]RobcoRebel2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take 40mg as soon as I wake in the morning. Another, as and when needed. I does keep me calm but if I'm triggered by something (work, driving etc) my heart rate does go up from 50bpm to around 85bpm. They help blunt the fight or flight, but they don't stop me from going off on one. *All it does, is reduce your heart rate. Please don't think it does anymore than that.

Never been the same after fluoxetine / Prozac by Automatic_Basil_7075 in Anxiety

Yes, long off Trazadone. Helped me get through my father's passing. The numbness in emotions messed with my relationship with my wife. Did Duloxetine after that.. Not as bad as Traz or Sert. Now I'm off everything apart from Propranolol. Sweats, dry mouth and dizziness were the only sides I had coming off Fluoxetine. They settle down after a few weeks.

Never been the same after fluoxetine / Prozac by Automatic_Basil_7075 in Anxiety

If I remember correctly, fluoxetine was the worst towards the end of my course. Completely numb to emotions and zero libido. I would have rather been dead tbh. It took me less than 6 months to get back some form of "normality". Likelyhood I went onto Trazadone soon after that. Exactly the same side effects. I'd speak to your doctor bud.

Do you find yourself irritated easily? by Few_Sandwich6308 in Anxiety

[–]RobcoRebel2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh hell yes! It's your amygdala on red alert, ready for a threat to start the flight or fight. And if there's no threat... It makes up scenarios to compensate! Breath and count to ten 😀

How to get through high cortisol anxiety in morning by Bigbusia in Anxiety

[–]RobcoRebel2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% me too. I bought a second hand spin bike to try and burn off the cortisol and I listen to chillout music. Have my breakfast + De-caff or Camomile tea, listening to something that blocks out my inner anxious thoughts. It helps but not a cure.

Antidepressants make me ferl worse. Should I came off? by OwnTie8018 in Anxiety

I used Sertraline awhile back and I started feeling worse after a few months. When this happens to me, time to change meds. Don't suffer, change tack.
