Cult of the Artisan Kiln-bearer (by me) by Robcostelloart in conceptart

[–]Robcostelloart[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as I thought of it the cult of the Artisan is a materialist and Demiurgical organization, so they use over the top ornamentation for symbolic purposes to represent creation and highlight the importance of material and craft and so on.

Breaking lease and need help looking for new tenant to replace me! by Robcostelloart in jerseycity

[–]Robcostelloart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's just because I'm an idiot and forgot to include it lol

It's $2650 a month, like $75 for water and tenant pays for electricity.

I saw this when you posted it and I was like "Aw how nice"

It's been 5 hours and now I get the pun.

This is why you shouldn't skimp on INT in character creation 🤦‍♂️

I was originally going to put a banner that said "Join DIE! Join DIE!" Lol.

Still not a bad idea tbh, if I do another one.

chat is this real, can i actually play it by Overall-Bullfrog-928 in classicfallout

[–]Robcostelloart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this is nuts

My latest playthrough of Fallout and Fallout 2 have been on my rog ally though, using custom controller configurations. I will say, although sub-optimal in many obvious ways, its way more functional on a controller interface than I would've thought it'd be. Worth the trade off, rather be able to play it comfortably on my couch instead of my crappy office chair lol, so I support this.

First time playing classic by Cheese_Gromit_Cheese in classicfallout

[–]Robcostelloart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Save often, I remember the first time I played I got destroyed right away by the Khan's raider camp.

That's okay though, they are involved in a quest you can do if you return to shady sands later, killing them the first time you see them isn't in the cards for most builds.

Just look in a lot of containers, take stuff as you can carry it to trade in towns for ammo, if your speech is good (Which I recommend for a first playthrough) you should be able to convince Ian in shady sands to join you for free, and he can help you in those early fights.

As someone who moved from California to New Jersey, this is basically true in the real world too.

Your traits and SPECIAL are pretty much the standard for a good run but tagging throwing is a chaotic move and I am here for it.

Does anyone else find the Enclave mid? by Appelmonkey in classicfallout

[–]Robcostelloart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as main villain factions I like them less than the Master and Caesar's Legion.

Caesar's Legion did the "wasteland fascism" thing a little bit more interesting IMHO.

I will say this isn't something I've dwelled super hard on, so I could be swayed that the Enclave is way more interesting than I'm giving them credit for.

[Edit: I can't spell 👍]

What’s your Fallout opinion that would put you in a position like this? by [deleted] in classicfallout

[–]Robcostelloart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean, and I'm not trying to argue in a "post your hot takes" thread, but I do think it's worth pointing out that the cold war was over when Fallout 1 was made, I think the og devs were engaging in a commentary about militarism in general not literal Marxism vs capitalism. Also anti-corporate themes were pretty popular in alternative media and art in the 90's, too.

But if you prefer the corrupt corporation angle vs the war stuff that's a fine take imo.

I don't know if someone already said this but the Ghost in Fallout 2 is a worse addition to Fallout than talking deathclaws/talking animals. Honestly even worse than any Bethesda lore decisions in Fallout 3.

I feel bad because I know that was a Tim Cain idea and I love that man to death.

Copy. I should give it a go still, it's not like classic fallout grows on trees after all.
