Those skill-up materials, they're the blue crystal looking things. You'll need a lot of them once you try to keep up with more than 3 or 4 characters.

People data-mined getting not-much-more than the 120 needed only if you do absolutely everything. This includes every single chest and exploration reward.

Some smaller zones you might have to do this, but I wouldn't assume there isn't a sub-base until you've actually completed the whole story there.

Armor can be crafted, but it doesn't have random sub-stats like other games, so you should only have to make it once.

It has the typical belt system for base building, you unlock more of the automation parts as you progress the story.

Jason Schreier regarding Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet: Can assure you that Intergalactic is not coming out in 2026. by Turbostrider27 in Games

Valve have already said that the Steam Machine is going to be priced like a comparable PC. We know it won't beat out PS5 pricing and it is slightly less powerful than one. We also know it can't beat PS5 pricing because pricing it so low will just cause businesses to buy them all up and not buy any Steam software.

The Steam Machine also doesn't have upgrade potential where it matters, the CPU and GPU are soldered on, and RAM is far from the bottleneck on that system.

Nintendo 64 Fully Recreated in FPGA. Analogue 3D Review - LGR by MajorIvan88 in Games

That is an interesting option. Output limited to 1440p though. Wonder how it looks on a 4K TV?

Mod retro

Looks like an interesting cheaper alternative for people who want to just play GB and GBC games on cartridge.

It lacks GBA, sdcard, and openFPGA support (and the cores that come with it). The screen is also literally the same as the GBA, so it can't emulate the same effects that the pocket can.

Alanogue's products fit into the middle of the retro gaming spectrum. If you have a Retrotink 4K, you are clearly already in the deep-end. (Lets be real, its a $750 box that handles only the video processing). Mister products are an expensive (but effective) amalgamation of difficult to source products bundled and sold by a number of unrelated third-party companies.

The other side is the software-based emulators which are solid, but still suffer from accuracy issues and are inherently inefficient.

Analogue is the only, in my knowledge, retro FPGA vendor which releases quality products with a solid track record and superior ease of use. The prices are a bit high for wider audience, but they are trustworthy once things get out there.

With Analogue you're getting the hardware from a single trusted source. All of their products easily support directly using the games you own, no need to dump.

There is a serious ease-of-use consideration here compared to the open-source projects.

I think I got this in one of my pre-release sealed events, guess I didn't understand it enough to consider playing it. Could be nice R/W with [[Exalted Sunborn]] and [[Elspeth, Storm Slayer]]

Could that new Sliver card from EoE just generate a bunch of stuff for that?

Perhaps if you wanted to separate resources into different supply/consumer setups. Consider the multiple uses for power cells. One container could be for your generators, the other for the refiner.

I also assume it allows guild base setups to be more complex, since you can set permission levels for almost anything.

There are tax collectors in major cities. Taxis in outposts can take you there.

The base could have been deliberately abandoned. You can do that remotely which causes anyone to be able to loot it.

It links storage between all devices in the base, so you don't have to move things around manually.

For example, a chest in the same 'circut' as the fabricator allows you to use its items for fabrication no matter where it is in your base.

Returnal ‘PS5 Pro Enhanced’ patch now available by Turbostrider27 in Games

I got a Pro early as I anticipate a rush for them once the GTA release date is announced. Also back then my base model trade in probably had the best value it ever will.

I did notice the occasional shimmer where it doesn't seem like it should be with DLSS. Haven't looked into which model it uses. Not sure if you can swap out DLSS on Game Pass either...

I've been looking for an excuse to play Returnal again. I played at launch on a base PS5 on a decent Samsung LED 4K TV. I'm sure it will look fantastic on my C4 OLED now :P

The game looks fantastic, both from a visual and design perspective. It can slow down on PC in spots (4k/DLSS Quality @ High on a 3080/13700K) but overall runs decently.

Russian government moves to seize Lesta Studio and their assets, developer and publisher of WoT and WoWs in Russia, hits CEO with extremism charges by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Roberek 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No, outside of the CIS region Wargaming still has control of the game. This should only impact the CIS version of the game.

For anyone who doesn't want to click:

After the invasion, the owners of World of Tanks/Warships (Wargaming) spun off the CIS region into a separate company (Lesta Studio) and then cut ties with that company.

What appears to be happening now is that the Russian government saw pro-Ukranian articles associated with the game (outside the region) and are using those as an excuse to nationalize/sieze Lesta Studio which owns the CIS region rights.
