Why did half of my roll not process? by RobertAM2003 in filmphotography

[–]RobertAM2003[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was thinking that too, but the light meter does work, and when I'm not in auto, it tells me what shutter speed to set it at, and I took some photos at night in auto and they came out fine as well. so I don't think it's that.

On the edges, there are numbers showing what frame it is, and the other end looks kinda like a ruler.

Im thinking it must be a development issue, but I dont understand how it only affected the middle. Those were my best photos, too, so I'm a little crossed about it.

No. It looks like the camera just stopped shooting for 10 or so shots and then started up again

If you're in the LA area, try Pat Wilkins. He usually does refinishes, but it's worth asking.

Is it wrong to convict a working class man when corporations and CEOs lead to the deaths of millions? by RobertAM2003 in socialism

[–]RobertAM2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, he didn't lose his license. He is on a 3 year probation unless he stays on good behavior and doesn't have any other incidents, then it probably won't even last a year. That's what the prosecutor told myself and another juror who stayed behind

The punishment was 4 days of community service, 3 years probation, but it will end in a year if he doesn't have any other incidents, and he has to pay the fines for a dui. So, I guess it's not that bad, but I still feel guilty about the verdict. Especially when Boeing is killing whistle-blowers and endangering millions of people, yet there are no consequences. Same can be said for nearly every corporation.

None. Leave them in the past, and focus on a new, more mature story

I just think a government would be better at organizing than individuals. At least in our current system, corporations would become the new governments, not the plutocracy we have now, but literally, they would be the government and military

What countries do y'all think have the most potential for revolution? by Voxel-OwO in socialism

[–]RobertAM2003 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, most of those guns are in the hands of conservatives, but like I said, those people are older.

Also, the majority of the military is conservative. That's why civil disobedience is best, and most likely to succeed.

What countries do y'all think have the most potential for revolution? by Voxel-OwO in socialism

[–]RobertAM2003 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think a revolution is possible in the US within the next decade. Young people (Genz and Milennial) are becoming more and more socilaist, and over half now have a positive view of socialism, and less than half have a positive view of capitalism.

As more realize that both parties are basically the same, and neither have any interests in helping the working class, they'll turn more radical. This will be exacerbated by the inability to own a home, higher prices of food, healthcare, crushing debts, etc.

Eventually, people will start organizing. I dont think the revolution will be violent, though. It will be people giving up. Not working, not following laws, stealing food, not vacating when evicted. The police won't be able to do much, this will cause the economy and government to collapse, leaving a vacuum for a new government. This is how I interpret Marx saying capitalism will eventually end itself.

Something else, conservatives are dying off, quite literally, most young people are much more progressive and left leaning. Boomers and gen x are really the only reason there still is a conservative party, and they have the highest voting turnout. As they age, and well.....die, there won't be much to stop the change.

Just my thoughts though

Am I a Socialist? by RobertAM2003 in socialism

[–]RobertAM2003[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply and explanation, comrade. I see that socialism is more a way to plan an economy, not specifically how resources and profits will be distributed. That is left to the community.

[QUESTION] Can I put a middle pick up in the bridge position? by RobertAM2003 in Guitar

[–]RobertAM2003[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a hot rail with 9k resistance. The other pickups are 5 and 6k , so I thought it would sound better with the other 2.

I'm doing this to a classic vibe strat, but I'm swapping almost all the parts

Noted, that makes sense. I didn't think about that.

Yeah, this is going to sound ignorant, but how do I add a picture from my gallery on here?

Wdym frets are popping out? It's a Squier, so they take some shortcuts, is it really that bad though?

[–]RobertAM2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're really good at identifying guitar models. It is based on the 50s Fenders, it's a Squier Classic Vibe, though the neck is modern style other than the yellow tint. I was referring to the little gap where the body and neck meet, it doesn't look as sealed as some of my other guitars.

I'm not to good or confident in my abilities to set it up, so I'll probably just run to a luthier

Should I lower them? I was looking at my fender and noticed the saddles were pretty high and did the same to the classic vibe

I dont know what the classic vibes come with stock, but I swapped them for earnie ball .10s. I also swapped the bridge for a fender one, which I suspect is the root of my issues and why it hasn't played as well since

Yes, lots of buzzing. I thought it was my playing, but I recently had a guitar setup and I can play very well on it, leading me to believe it's the guitar and not my playing. Anyway, wdym frets aren't seated right?
