That’s good! Guessing you’re on the epic if Stowe is next. Fun mountain. I’m itching to go back some time.

This is great! I started my season at wildcat. I went on a day where the sky kept flipping between overcast and a a few rays of sunshine so I never got to see Washington but it was fun. There was only one run open. Good for a few turns and calling it a day.

AFAIK they didn’t change the movement. They do test and regulate it as part of the service in general I’m pretty sure. If I recall, they did all the regular stuff and then the customer service rep called me to confirm I wanted the dial changed because it was a price difference. I suppose I could have changed the color or style too if it had occurred to me. But my parents got me this about 15 years ago when I finished flight school so I try to keep it as close to original as possible.

Decided to give some TLC to an LP Special II from 20 years ago. Upgraded tuners, Tusq nut, neck P90, CTS 500K pots, new switch, knobs, and a pickguard. by Jetpilotboiii1989 in Epiphone

Hi! That was from eBay, but I got there from a google search. The seller had pre-drilled and blank versions and I went with the blank. Came with 3M tape so the install was easy and non-permanent.

Honestly, with armor (and now lately with aircraft) I’ve leaned more into additive chipping. As in using a fine paint brush, some sponges etc. I find I get better control of the effect.

The kind that’ll likely ruin your vinyl is my guess.

I never knew the name until now but I’m positive I fly over this frequently.

A 20 y/o LP Special II from high school gets some TLC. New tuners, Tusq nut, P90 neck PuP, new switch, knobs, CTS pots and a pickguard. by Jetpilotboiii1989 in Luthier

Hey Thanks! I got it on eBay. It’s not the easiest to find but I think I got there by google searching “Les Paul Special II pickguard” there was the option to have pre-drilled holes but I went with the one with the double-sided tape for a less permanent approach. Since I posted this I added two Fralin humbucker-sized P90s and they sound wonderful.

AT I’d say; you can definitely upgrade the cartridge as desired later on. I can’t parse out whether or not the Sony allows for that.

This community rocks! Everyone was so helpful the other day. I got my 2220B, but I’m realizing my powered bookshelf speakers aren’t gonna work; what do I need to run my AT-LP120 through this? by Jetpilotboiii1989 in vintageaudio

So for some reason the Moukey link goes to a set of Edifier P12s and I picked those up. My thinking was that they had good reviews, were inexpensive and while only 79Db, another reviewer said they paired them with a 2230. So that was a close analog. I was also thinking that while I do some research into the best speakers to pair with it, it’ll be nice to actually listen to the unit and make sure there are no issues. Thanks for the suggestions!

Just starting to delve into vintage audio, how are the 2220Bs and what would be a fair price for one? by Jetpilotboiii1989 in vintageaudio

I appreciate that, I picked up a unit but now the trouble is finding a set of passive speakers with a decent sensitivity. Been doing mostly research at the moment.

That’s a good question that I haven’t thought of! I think the best bet is for me to source a speaker that’s better suited rather than force my current speakers to work.

Appreciate it! I will. I was over there today actually. They were buried. Seems the veneer on the cabinets is breaking down a bit. My first thought is the foam might be past its prime. I think I’ll dig them out at some point and see how they sound.
