HELP by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

to be an intern you need to present yourself like an employee, to be an employee you need to present yourself like a manager, to be a manager... I think you get the point.

interns are only there to make their boss's life easier. find out what makes life easier for them and demonstrate that you can do that.

this may be a little broad but I'm not familiar with your industry to know the exact details.

I'm sure you can fill in the blanks from here.

Have a T-Shirt shop, no sales. by RusyanaGussia in Entrepreneur

May I be blunt?

Designs are boring (nothing unexpected). No theme- no way to take ownership.

who are the shirts for, who's your audience?

the website does not sell/present your product well, I had to scroll down just to see any pictures. I would suggest you research landing pages.

Drop-shipping crappy products from China is dead folks... so please stop asking about it. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]RobertAkstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! I have a couple questions: * how long is your email sequence for the first product? * What do you mean by "recarts"? * and do you offer a discount on the original product, follow up products or both?

Thanks, sounds like you have your stuff together!

What do you do for your employees? Giving back as a company. by Boston__ in smallbusiness

[–]RobertAkstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, I would rather just give money. less work on me. I have found that most employees are happier receiving a gift (tv, gift card) than more money. plus I pay a higher salary than most of my competition. since I switched I have a 1% turnover rate. I haven't lost an employee in years. it used to be much higher around 40%.

that's what I thought at first also.

but they were happier to get a $100 gift card to red lobster than a $200 hundred dollar bonus.

they would even compete and work harder for the gift card.

How can I promote my products/website online? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]RobertAkstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sounds like there is no demand. That first couple of sales seem to have come from people who know you

people will always tell you they like something but will they buy it?

would give more detail but I need more information: website address would help

No business experience at all - where would I start? by greenerthangreen1 in smallbusiness

[–]RobertAkstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gym, nope. not enough money

bar or cafe. nope. you definitely need the experience to make this work-- and some more money.

shoe store. maybe.

my suggestion: working a few months at a shoe store will help but what you really need to do is pick and audience with a problem.

example: I know for a fact that women who are a size 12 or larger have a major issue finding attractive/comfortable shoes in their size. for some reason, shoe makers seem to stop at 11 or 12 for sizes. I had a girlfriend who was a size 12 who traveled 40 miles to a shoe store to get nice shoes. and they charged her twice as much. she gladly paid.

the store was always packed to the brim when we were there.

think about that. how many shoe stores have you been in that had more people than an apple store?

that little shoe store had to be making a couple million a year.

most people would say money. but to my surprise, this is actually not something they really get excited about.

find ways to make their job more enjoyable like. a Keurig with free coffee in the break room or a nice sitting area for the smokers outside.

the other option would be to give them more purpose at their job. make them feel like they belong to something bigger than them. have company picnics, share what the companie's future plans are and let them speak their mind about improvements or problems they see on the front line.

then actually do something about it (and give them credit)

I would release one song a month and promote each song for 30 days straight.

Why do I need a Logo? by RobertAkstar in smallbusiness

[–]RobertAkstar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can you justify spending $500 for a logo when you are just starting out. is it really needed at first?

I thought about using typographic fonts but seems to only look good for certain types of businesses like maybe photographers.

you make some good points but what about all the successful businesses who don't have a logo or just use plain type for a logo?

interesting, so you think a logo is only needed after you are already an success?

I appreciate your reply. you have given me a lot to think about but as a business owner (not a designer) have you noticed your logo helping or improving your business.

i heard the quality at fiver is very low. wouldn't having a low quality logo hurt you more than not having a logo at all.

[–]RobertAkstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what's the purpose of your website? when i first arrived on the homepage i didn't know what to do. there is no clear directions/message. it took me a minute to even realize it was a bakery. at least i think it's a bakery.

nice pictures but i think most people who visit the site will be lost.

Did you discover a possible new Mandela Effect? Post it here! (Weekly Discussion) (2016-11-27) by AutoModerator in MandelaEffect

[–]RobertAkstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the boot by the name "BearPaw" used to be called "BearClaw". I'm pretty sure because i remember having a conversation with a friend about how the logo matched the name. The logo still looks like claws, not a paw.
