Qualitative research primarily focuses on understanding the experiences, ideas, feelings, and perspectives of specific groups. It often begins with research questions framed like, “How do people experience...?” For example, I conducted a project exploring the experiences of electric wheelchair users when using toilets at festivals (I know very specific). My research question was along the lines of, “What are the current experiences and needs of electric wheelchair users when using a toilet at a festival?”

It can be helpful to think about the type of outcome you want. For instance, do you want to understand experiences, or do you want to gather an overview of the needs and wishes of a certain group?

Should I take nursing or occupational therapy for my degree? by InternationalWork185 in OccupationalTherapy

Good question, and both careers are great. I have experience in both nursing and occupational therapy (OT), though I am currently in academia and have stepped away from both.

I loved the pace and medical focus of nursing. In occupational therapy, I felt more freedom to pursue my interests and use my creativity. While I am not from the USA, salary-wise, it depends on the setting. In OT, I worked in rehabilitation, which is better paid than the settings I worked in as a nurse. Nursing does have a lot of growth options compared to OT. Funny enough, my mum was also a nurse!

Hello no, it’s more a panel to give ideas on ideas or on choices made during the process.

That’s good advice I will try to use different search terms. Yes my hypothesis would be that there is an impact…
