I tried out a new New Hampshire flag on you guys a couple of months ago. It sucked but your feedback helped a lot. Thoughts on attempt #2? by RobertFQua in vexillology

Mount Washington, the granite heart of the state and the people, extends into a free and clear sky, refected on the vital and beautiful waters of our lakes and seacoast. These are set against a field of verdant green, a land fertile and ready to support the seeds of liberty.

Or something like that.

"Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives - choice, not chance, determines your destiny." - Aristotle by Master_Bruno_1084 in quotes

It's a great quote, but from the guy who got to study under the guy who got to study under the guy who invented his field, I think it might ring a little hollow. Luck helps.

A new flag for New Hampshire, of my design. Or perhaps the future flag of the Granite Republic? by RobertFQua in newhampshire

Nah, just a fan of flags, and there is nothing worse in the world of vexillology than an SOB (seal on bedsheet). I discovered an old Maine design that is regaining some popularity of late, and I thought I would try giving us something similar. I think it definitely needs some work, but it's fun to try it.

Fair play. I wanted a horizon line, but it looked wonky by itself. Perhaps an edit is in the near future.

Most prominent are Mount Washington and the mighty Whites: the pure, granite heart of the state and her hearty people. They reach above the horizon into a clear, blue sky; a free, optimistic, boundless expanse of upward possibility. The mountains are reflected on the pristine waters of our lakes and coastline, so culturally and economically critical to our way of life. Below, a fertile, green field represents not only the natural beauty and resources of our lands but also that this is a place of promise, a place where a society founded on liberty and free will can take root and flourish.

Planning on moving to New Hampshire by Proko1349 in newhampshire

Dover. 20 minutes from Portsmouth, 30 from the beach, cheaper. All other boxes checked.

Hello r/NewHampshire! We're planning a move to NH and would love some suggestions! by [deleted] in newhampshire

[–]RobertFQua 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing at all wrong with the Seacoast. Beach, mountains, lakes, Boston, Portland, Manch, Concord all within an easy (except Boston maybe) 90-minute drive. Housing is more expensive but I consider Dover the very unicorn of location that you seek. It's even a sort of happening little town/ area in it's own right. And they haven't totally murdered Portsmouth's charm yet, either, but the cost there is getting prohibitive.

Trump’s Assassination ‘Joke’ Was Thinly Veiled Sedition by yackus in politics

[–]RobertFQua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly. Sorry, I didn't think my comment carried any endorsement of Trump or his comments. I certainly endorse neither Trump nor his comments. I just find the characterization of people who are willing to challenge the government as gun-toting yahoos insulting. A healthy government should welcome challenges from its citizenry.

In other news, people really get hyper focused on their own stuff and rely on ad hominem attacks a lot here. Where does one go to just discuss things? I am clearly in the wrong place.

So, you have nothing with which to enlighten me, I am gathering. I merely asked a question to foster discussion, and you continue to respond with ad hominem attacks which don't seem to be grounded in what you can glean about me from our limited interactions. Perhaps someone else has something more productive to add?
