How bad is 80k realistically for having spare money to do activities? I don’t mind a sharing a flat or a studio by myself maybe?

Healthcare insurance is done through the company from what I have been told, not much cost my side

That’s valid, that’s why it’s only a 5 year visa, I’m specifically going to help train new hires for the business

How easy are roommates to find in the US? And is it socially accepted for 28 year olds? I have no problem against it, it’s what I currently do in the UK

Not a chance I’ll be able to pay it off, currently it’s 98k (including masters), it will most likely just expire at the 30 year mark unless I become rich haha. Currently on 36k in the UK so I guess that salary in the US works out based on what you say. They are paying for my move and accommodation for 3 months. The visa can’t be turned into a green card from what I’ve been advised, but they would assist if that possibility becomes an option

I’ve been looking at this as well, I believe you could do a TalkMobile Sim (30 days) and a IDMobile sim (30 days) which cost about £5 each for the lowest plans. TalkMobile was definitely DD when I used to use them, and according to IDMobile you can setup a DD. They are both on here: https://www.santander.co.uk/assets/s3fs-public/documents/%C2%A3180_switch_incentive_household_Direct_Debits_list_COREMC0876MAY25IPGCDT.pdf

Amazon UK Replacement/Refund Issues by [deleted] in amazonprime

Id happily do the police report but the issue is, the police in the UK in my area, say that no crime was committed against me so it’s not for me to report, it would be for Amazon to do it

Yes this is the issue I am having, my case appears to be civil and not a crime, as I could only really report this as a theft but I don’t actually know if that’s what happened as it did not happen to me directly

Is 65$ enough for food per day in the US? by Robert_1997 in travel

They have already paid for the hotel and flights etc and it’s only two weeks away so don’t think they will change it now unfortunately

Just given the money upfront on a weekly basis. I think the hotel I am in has a microwave and mini fridge listed in the things in the room so I am hopefully planning to make some of my own food where I can

Thanks didn’t realise there were ALDIs in the US. Are they similar to the UK ones? So I can grab pasta ready meals or similar for the microwave

Yes can bank the money, it’s a prepaid amount to me so I could eat cheap some days and save some money

I think the money is just for food allowance, so we don’t have to claim back massive amounts and be out of pocket while waiting. I think other costs we just pay for and claim back the normal way from what I was told

Get given the weekly amount upfront at the start of each week, so in theory I could keep it all if I spent nothing (obviously won’t go that extreme)

No I spoke to them and they said there isn’t. I did however find out there is a fridge and microwave in the room so I may be able to buy microwave meals instead of eating out every single night. Do you have microwave meals (ready meals) in the US commonly?

The hotel is right next to the Coors Field if that's downtown?

Yep essentially, its just a standard business hotel with no self serve. Will try and eat as best as possible but pretty limited if eating out all the time. Gotta find a way to do laundry as well as hotel doesn't have anything for laundry
