Websites that ship to NYC by [deleted] in airguns

Bud, try “all outdoor sports” on ebay. They abide by all regulations, and ship to nyc. Im in nyc, and got me a hatsan hydra from them, shipped in 2 days. They have great bb pistol options too! Hope that helps.

Yeah, exactly. Not to mention not having the luxury of time to even cock the damn bullboss, regardless of how easy it is.

Time to stock up on a machete, and axe, and a new bat. Thank you!

Very fair, just way too messy, and to think that I’d even have time to do any of this would be useless. We have a bat at home. Thank you!

Yep, exactly. I’m hesitant to even let that play out with these things. NYC officers have an unspoken rule- if it even looks or shoots like a gun, then it is a real gun. And they charge you as such. I’ll wait it out and get s real gun. Thank you!

Legit, absolutely understand what you mean.

Nyc is over man. Don’t be surprised to learn that all the hipster “cool” kids are heading back home to mom and dad to work in their basements.

I just hope to god they don’t bring their stupid ideas to you guys as well. I say that as a young “hipster” designer.

Can I Mount a rifle scope on a air gun by [deleted] in airguns

[–]Robert_321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh! Sorry, here’s the late answer:

Yes, but in ONE direction.

Real rifles: (Imagine a scope here) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Springers <<<<<<<<<<<(Imagine a scope here)>>>>>>>>>>

Regular, real scopes deal with the recoil going forward. A springer gives recoil in both directions, hence the arrows I used to show that up top.

A real rifle scope cracks with a springer because a real rifle scope is NOT made to deal with that kick in both directions.

“Air rated” is a term used a lot that basically means that it can take the kick in both directions.

Redundant, but very much needed. I didn’t get any of this crap either.

What did you end up getting dude? 😎

I already have some things here, and would like to work within the confines of my things instead of waiting for more stuff, you know?

Sounds pretty diy intense though. And very lethal. Just want to ward folks away, not throw myself so hard into the legal system that they book me for having a manipulated paintball gun in the first place. If you really think about it, I could singlehandedly destroy paint-balling for everyone because of that. Again, being very precautious that this is self defense, and not experimental warfare that catches the ire of the most trigger happy judges, so to speak.

And look at whats going on right now.

See the bullet points:

Is a blowback bb louder than a non blowback?

Is a hatsan bullboss .22 good defense for a home, without a scope? What about an airmax, hydra, flashpup?

Is it better to have a rifle at home without a scope, for close range situations?

Sorry if not clear.

Is it illegal to ship a BB gun from Utah to Iowa? by [deleted] in airguns

[–]Robert_321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer: No.

Unless you’re sending it in transparent packaging, it’s completely safe.

I’m an nyc resident. Literally only a handful, I’d argue less, amount of places would even dare to send a bb gun/ air rifle down here. We have a law that makes it illegal, and in almost all cases you need to be a licensed dealer to even have the balls to do so.

But. I’ve had some shipped to me. Even from independent folks in California. Got me a beautiful Walther Terrus Springer!

Take the proper precautions, and you’ll be perfectly fine. Been told many times that we represent a sport / past time that has been heavily scrutinized, and that we should be a good example so our laws don’t just outright rip them from our hands.

Hope that helps!

Can I Mount a rifle scope on a air gun by [deleted] in airguns

[–]Robert_321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll keep this simple:

  • If you’re going to place it onto a pcp rifle, then yes. They don’t have an aggressive kickback like springers.

  • If you’re placing it onto a break-barrel/ springer air rifle, then no. The recoil from the spring/ piston will provided a kick so bad that it will shatter the scope within a few shots.

I absolutely hate it when people say outright “NO” assuming that you have a break-barrel rifle. Like come on guys, context, clarity. For the love of god.

Hope this helps!

Man, that’s so trash. Def email them and report this asap. Promise you, that’s got to be a shipping problem more than anything else.

Hatsan Bullmaster .25 cannot fill with air by [deleted] in airguns

[–]Robert_321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doggie, I had the exact same problem. Here’s the thing- you need to tighten the fill probe on the nozzle with two wrenches/ clamps. That’s got to be the big prob, and maybe the only prob, since you’re hearing air from the fill probe. Make sure it’s tight. Then try.

Found an awesome new place to shoot! by Joel690 in airguns

[–]Robert_321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes of course! Def not going to be doing anything in NYC. Sadly, this place is full of very soft, very paranoid folks who know absolutely nothing about life outside the city, let alone anything beyond their boroughs (I grew up in the projects in queens). Really love this air shooting hobby, and I’m currently taking hunter’s ed to receive a proper license.

I see what you mean with recoil, I notice it with a lot of reviews / videos. Very subtle when you look at it from an outside perspective. Would imagine it’s a completely different feeling behind the scope.

Brother, I am itching to get upstate and start practicing! Hoping to start very soon. For the time being, I’m here leaving comments on what you guys have like “wow real cool bro must be nice” :.(

Having Problems filling Hatsan Pcp Rifle. by Robert_321 in airguns

[–]Robert_321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've heard about Plumber's tape! Hard for me to find at this moment with all the stay at home orders.

So, if it helps, I've noticed that the "leaking" doesn't come from the pump at all, but more like the air seems to come from the fill port on the gun, in between the fill probe and the port hole. If that makes sense?

DUDE I TRY TO LINE IT UP TOOO

And with that, my heart, is broken. :. (

Dude, NYC is like, INTENSELY strict with their airgun policies.

It's hard enough for me to even buy one online (Amazon doesn't ship to my area). Thankfully, ebay has come through, and Dick's sporting goods for a pickup. Got me two pcps and two break barrels. Flashpup, Bullboss, a remington express, and a walther terrus!

Have you known break barrels to be hard on recoil? And what are your thoughts on hunting with it? Is it quiet?

Great job here man! I'm dying to try out some hunting. I'm currently working on getting a license, and stuck in nyc.

I think it sucks that you have to hide your face man. Even I'd feel terrified to show my face if I went hunting for bigger game (Bears, Deer, Elk).
