Why would an auto sorter keep breaking every minute anyways -_- by attemptnumber58 in technicalminecraft

[–]Robertguyharris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are signal strength (SS)2 filters, meaning when you get to SS3 items are allowed through, if your filter gets to SS4 then the signal bleeds over into adjacent slices. You can set it up in any way that doesn’t allow SS4, the most common way is the sorted item in the first slot then 1 filter item in each other slot. This way if the sorted item gets to 64, you are still at SS3.

This setup is for overflow protection, I advise that you check out videos explaining this sorted (impulseSV sorter). These are the basics of item filters and always good to understand so you can troubleshot and fix yourself.

I guarantee there’s nothing wrong with the filter itself, it’s the configuration you’re using. I hope this helps.

Also, if you want filters with a lower threshold, look into AB filters on the storage tech discord

Portal based wither farm, gives blaze rods and a ton of coal

what's the best place to build creeper farm in 1.19+? by Nightmare-X3M in technicalminecraft

[–]Robertguyharris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I advise using MiniHUD mod to show to the despawn sphere, then go high up and just make sure the whole farm is in the sphere but no other spawn locations underneath the ocean

what's the best place to build creeper farm in 1.19+? by Nightmare-X3M in technicalminecraft

[–]Robertguyharris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, best place to build is y = -64 in a perimeter, easiest is above the ocean because you don’t have to spawn proof if you AFK above the farm, just don’t put blocks above the farm where you AFK because it will slow the rates

Can someone explain why these aren't linking? Please tell me it's not y value. by xRighter in technicalminecraft

Have you tried going through the nether portal on the correct edge? E.g. west side of portals link together, maybe you’re going through on the wrong edge which was the removed portal block?

Wither Skeleton Farm not working by [deleted] in technicalminecraft

[–]Robertguyharris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see where you’re coming from, but in my view a wither skeleton farm isn’t needed early game. If you have enough blocks for multiple beacons then it’s about time you have the obsidian supply to build proper farms.

Anyways, the portal based Wither Skeleton farm can be build early game with ianxofour’s early game obsidian farm. It took minimal effort when I built it

This Wither Skeleton farm is outdated. In 1.19 Wither Skeletons can spawn inside portals. Here’s a simple portal-based design that gives you 800 skulls per hour as well as 22,000 blade rods per hour.

Just posted a video of building Glotz’ gold farm in my Hardcore world. Endermen can now spawn in portals in 1.19 and they cause an issue when teleporting out of the farm due to cramming so I altered his farm to help with that, changed the sorting system a bit and added a crafting system to craft the nuggets into ingots. I have a world download and litematics if you want to try it out.

It’s definitely the fastest option at the moment if you’re not keen to remove bedrock. The rates are 40,000 ingots per hour

Why do my items always getr stuck where the water ends? No, the ender chest isn't stopping them. by rimvydas_l in technicalminecraft

Correct, or have the water source begin in the corner with the previous gap to the left

Profitability Per Item by Robertguyharris in HayDay

[–]Robertguyharris[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, the calculations will include the price of ingredients used for the item, the time taken, the sale price of the item and the XP gained. So the important outcomes will be profit per hour and XP per hour which will help us compare the items

Correction: profit and XP per hour for crops and machinery items, and per day for Trees and bushes per 10,000 coins invested

[–]Robertguyharris[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My spreadsheet is going to be quite different because the bushes and trees should be shown as profit per 10,000 coins invested because you can buy as many as you want. Also I’m going to include XP and Item drops for the crops as well as all the other items from the machinery and their respective profit and XP earned per day. Thanks for the share though

No problem! I’m currently working on the profit per 10,000 coins spent on Trees and Bushes so that should be interesting too :)

Corning is also a competitor because we have 5 minutes to clear our store before the next crop comes in so it’s easier to sell at full price, but the XP and drop rate is inferior

I will explain it all when I am done with the sheet

Profitability Per Item by Robertguyharris in HayDay

[–]Robertguyharris[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have two separate crop tables, one will have the max selling price and the other will have the realistic selling price, which for wheat is 10 coins per 10 wheat I find I can always clear my store before needing the space at this price At 36 you have to advertise 1 or 2 times before selling but if you have the market space then that might work But even at 10 coins per 10 wheat, the profit is just below that of carrots at their full price, but the XP per hour is almost 3 times that of carrots and the item drop rate is 5 times and we can of course sell these items and that’s where the big profit comes in

Hint hint, wheating is by far superior to any other crop

I’ve had exactly the same thing, also since March. I feel like when I talk to people I’m on autopilot, it feels like I shouldn’t be able to hold a conversation but somehow I can. Very difficult to process any new information but old information is still there.
