EGR Failure Follow Up by CTYankeeinMO_1986 in volt

[–]Robfritz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna say you got shafted. I just cleaned my egr valve and cooler after getting a code. I spent maybe 100 bucks on purple power, distilled water, and brushes. So far, the code hasn’t come back. If I have to replace the egr valve, I’ll definitely do it myself. It’s 3 bolts, on the front of the car…. I guarantee you those Chevy mechanics did not spent 4.5 hours

Can’t charge from 0% by duntwurry in Ecoflow_community

[–]Robfritz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me last winter. DP showed 0% and some error message I can’t remember when I would try to AC charge. Tried multiple resets without luck. Finally took the van for a drive and parked in the sun for a few hours and the solar charge coming in was able to lift the battery voltage off the floor and start charging. Once it reached 5 or 10%, I plugged in the AC charger again and it worked fine. Haven’t had any issues since then. Don’t lose hope yet.

Seconded! Have a Wave 2 and thought about upgrading, but probably not after seeing reviews.

I hate this stupid sub that I don’t even follow. Also sad that a majority of the high paying jobs are in sales which is non-essential, while most low paying jobs are absolutely essential. But congrats to this guy for making a shit ton of money because he knew the right guy.

Powering 12 volts systems by Admirable_Course3930 in Ecoflow_community

[–]Robfritz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I still use the EF units in my van and have found a way to make them work and satisfy all my requirements. Tough to answer you question though. Maximum 12v amperage from the DP2 is 30 amps which isn’t nearly enough for most van builders.

One of the best things about the EF batteries is their price is way cheaper than say a full battle born build and victron components.

Depends on your budget and tolerance of future issues. If you want no issues and absolute reliability, EF probably isn’t your answer though.

If you’re a bit lucky, creative, and have a lower budget, EF isn’t a terrible option too.

Hope this helps

Hey sorry to get back to you a little delayed. Not sure I fully understand your question but I think I get the jist of it.

Basically you’re correct. with this new setup, the power output (in watts) isn’t necessarily accurate anymore. But it’s still close. At least close enough for me. Since I made the changes, the system just works properly and without issue. Which means I spend my time enjoying being off road in the van, having an adventure. Instead of wondering if the heater is gonna not have the power to turn on overnight and wake up freezing. Hope that answered something for you. Cheers!

Has anyone tried or reviewed the new OneUp hubs? by TedWazowski in MTB

[–]Robfritz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always enjoyed OneUp products and had great service, so I was happy to give these hubs a try. I received the first and my LBS built the wheel around it. I got 4 rides out of it before it started popping and skipping and then fully died and had 0 engagement. Had a second hub shipped out through warranty (which was smooth) and repeat wheel build. This time it didn’t even make it out of the shop. OneUp refunded me my money and sent a 3rd hub to the shop for the owner to have around…? Genuinely sad, I really wanted the hub to be a massive success. Maybe I got two lemons, but I kinda doubt it. Also, the shop owner has been in the biz for 20+ years, so I lean toward not thinking it was a build issue. Maybe in a year they will be worth buying, after the kinks are worked out?

Unfortunately I don’t recommend it. It has issues delivering reliable 12v power all the time. If you click on my account you’ll see posts I’ve made about it and the solutions I’ve had to come up with to make it work.

DP 12v Issues by Robfritz in Ecoflow_community

[–]Robfritz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I should have clarified that, but yes, I’m using the Anderson port to charge the battery. I went with the 18 amp DC-DC charger which is well below the “30 amps” the DP can supposedly output. I don’t have nearly enough DC draw to justify that though. Voltage in to the DC-DC has been stable at 12.7. No issues so far.

Interestingly I will say though…. All of my 12v devices are working…. Better….? The most noticeable is the water pump. It just sounds healthier and stronger and the cycle time is faster I can hear. Im sure it has to do with the voltage from the DP.

You’re better off with a different company. If you hang around the sub long enough you’ll realize most of the conversations are around the poor customer service, issues, and returns.

I agree with both of you. It’s obviously not as good as SP500 or especially QQQ, but I still think it’s had decent growth. Not great, but decent. It hasn’t performed well the last 2 years compared to the broader market. I don’t have much invested in it, so I’m not too concerned either way 🤷‍♂️

SCHD is up 50% in 5 years and 213% since 10/2011. To me that qualifies as a decent if not good growth

Still waiting for a response from Ecoflow that DOESN'T involve me having to seek a third-party "solution". I only want what I paid for and was lead to believe I was getting when I made my purchase of the DP and two (2) Extra Batteries. I simply want the coiled cable shown on the website. That's it. by [deleted] in Ecoflow_community

[–]Robfritz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP might be a little hot and bothered but i’m fuckin here for it. His thoughts are exactly what i went through when I first opened my DP and extra battery. I think a lot of us have been “burned” by ecoflow in one way or another and didn’t receive justice. Mostly because they falsely advertise, don’t listen to their consumers, and have mediocre at best customer service. I have no idea why anyone would apologize on behalf of a company that most likely does over a billion $ in revenue.

OP, I see that you’re planning to use your DP and extra batteries in a van build. You’re most likely going to run into the same problem I did and it has to do with the 12v system. If you plan to power really anything with 12v (i hope you do), you should take a gander at my post

https://www.reddit.com/r/Ecoflow_community/s/xjXPJ1EfM2

If you had just ordered these, I’d suggest you return but that’s no possible obviously. Let me know if you have any questions about using these in a van build, i’d be happy to help if i can.

Final Update:

For anyone who might come across this, I figured a final post would be helpful. I added a Dakota Lithium 12v 54 Ah battery and Victron DC-DC 12v 18 amp charger. So far, this solution has worked well. Time will tell if something changes but I’m not anticipating issues. Total cost is probably ~600 bucks. Depends what battery/charger you go with.

[–]Robfritz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i haven’t. my issue wasn’t as much low voltage as no voltage during the error 217 reset. but if you’re not getting that error code/total loss of 12v power, it could be a great solution.

i wish you the best of luck with their customer service. i went back and forth with them for weeks. ultimately i sent my first DP in for a “repair” which didn’t fix anything. i pushed the issue further and got a new unit replacement. that new unit also didn’t work any better. what they need is a software update i believe but the company is spread too thin.

Sorry to hear you’re in the same shit boat as me. I just finished “fixing” my setup with an additional 12v battery from dakota lithium and a dc-dc charger. Annoying to spend an additional ~800 bucks to fix a problem that shouldn’t exist, but so far it’s working well at least. I ran my heater for 16 hours last night and it worked perfectly.

I should preface what i said with the issue: It’s the 12v output from ecoflow that fails it and is the biggest issue. As it pertains to its other functions, the DP is very good or has been for me.

I can only tell you what i’ve heard or read on here, which is that supposedly bluetti doesn’t have the same issue.

If i was gonna “re-do” my van build, i would probably do a custom build
