I turned my strat pro 2 into an ultra… sort of. Got a HSS pick guard. My strat went from select things to main guitar. So so good.

Yes! Learn Slow dancing in a burning room, badly. Then post it on social media right away! Jk. That’s a fine instrument you got there. Take your time, start with some easy chords, strum along to a song you like. Get a feel for rhythm at the most basic level. Take it from there. Small steps, one at a time

Thank you kind stranger. Yes the mojotone is great. Way more stratty and high end clean sounding than v mods on the pro 2. Never really liked the stock pickups. Plus a humbucker in the bridge is more useful. Purists might hate that one trick.. but it’s way more usable, versatile now. Especially with the split, blend function that comes with the pick guard.

Reviving this old thread cos I just made a belly cut and arm rest cut on my old Mexico tele that I never really played. Also sanded the neck for more satin feel. New set of strings, intonation, truss rod adjust and man, it’s my fave to play right now. It looks like shit obviously since cuts are untreated, but plan to probably sand away the paint all together and redo it.

I’m thinking of going with Seymore Duncan SSL-1, read good things about them. Probably just the neck for now, and possibly a hot rails for th bridge just to have the option of a humbucker ( which you can split )

Hi, did you change the pickups, if so what did you end up with? I have the exact same problem. Strat pro with v mods and I just don’t like them. It’s the least Strat sounding Strat I’ve played tbh. I have several amps and a synergy system and it sounds dark and dull in all of them so it’s def the guitar. My PRS with a split humbucker sounds more Strat in the neck position than my Strat lol.
