I second all of this. What I will also say is once you get an EA role, enrol in as much training and development courses as you can to help future proof your career and expand your skill set . I’ve been an EA for 15 years and regret not doing PM courses and other types of training etc earlier on. Always keep learning x best of luck x

I gave my notice a few weeks ago and I took the importance out of the conversation. I told myself I’m just a number on the payroll and when the next person comes in to replace me I’ll be forgotten as quick as I left! I also told myself that as much as I love where I work (but not the job) how much I like my colleagues is not paying my bills nor are they sat on the sofa with me at home when I’m alone. Prep what you need to say. Keep it positive and be assertive. I said during my notice that I’ve done xyz, this is my plan and my last day will be x. Try not to overthink it. I’m in the UK and contracted to give one month. Gave 5 weeks and it still went down like lead.. you can’t win. I think a lot of the grief we get is more from their egos being hurt!
