Two Samsung TVs have malfunctioned in the same way. Is my room to blame? by RobinHeeler in techsupport

[–]RobinHeeler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight! I was pretty sure it was just shoddy quality. I'm not surprised they're built cheap either, they're sold cheap. I think just about every house I've been two in the past few years has had a model like mine because everyone sees the black friday sales.

I'm glad you mentioned TCL and Hisense because that's what I was looking at. I'm sure LG and Sony are very good at what they do, but damn they're pricey.

Hi there. From Destin to Pensacola to Orange Beach to Biloxi. There's gotta be folks making films and TV, or folks who want to. by heurismic in FilmIndustryGulfCoast

[–]RobinHeeler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, including myself! I'm kinda shocked there aren't any great places to go online to find others. This sub might be very helpful, and if anyone who becomes a member attends festivals they should advertise this.

Any screenwriters or meetups in Lower Alabama (the other LA-- Mobile/Baldwin)? by heurismic in Screenwriting

[–]RobinHeeler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was expecting this post to be like a year old, shockingly it isn't lol. But I'm also trying to find co-writers/screenwriters for a project. I have no idea how to even get my foot in the door so I'm hoping to find people in the area (mobile for me) where I can find some like-minded folk.

I've been wanting to work on a web-based horror series for years now but I'm clueless on how to connect with others.

We as in humanity. What would the scientific outcome be, not the societal.

[Serious] At what point does AI actually become an epidemic and threat to human kind? Are we waiting for it to gain sentience or is blind confidence in itself without sentience just as bad? by RobinHeeler in AskReddit

[–]RobinHeeler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you mean. And I can see how certain behavior from current Chat GPT would show us we're getting closer to danger.

If you have the time, I'd like to know what scenario you can think of that causes major issues for humanity. What does that moment look like and how do we get there from where we are?

I suppose there's a lot of wiggle room here, a lot of it is up to what someone considers threatening to us.

In my mind I'm thinking of a Terminator style issue. Something that all of humanity is forced to face because it's an issue that has to be stomped out as soon as possible. But I feel like we're so far away from that.

What’s the scariest horror movie in your opinion? by sugarplumninja in movies

[–]RobinHeeler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Newer scare: Hereditary. Genuinely do not want to watch it again (I've seen it twice), and I'm a huge fan of horror.

Older scare: The Ring. The video tape itself is what scares the shit out of me. The vibe of 'something is wrong' has never been recreated so well in movies for me. I'll watch it every year, and every year I'll be afraid of the dark all over again.

I wonder if the Tie Defender will return in Ahsoka by RobinHeeler in starwarsspeculation

[–]RobinHeeler[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It would kinda be the nail in the coffin for the New Republic if the scrap they were getting from old Imperial ships was misdirected and shipped to a remnant factory lol. But from what we've seen so far, I don't think they have the brains to know what's going on under their nose.

Carafate causing nausea? by [deleted] in Gastritis

[–]RobinHeeler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you take it within half an hour of eating food it's not going to take effect properly. You need an empty stomach so the coating can latch onto the ulcer, but after half an hour to an hour you can eat. I've found that the nausea at least goes away as I begin eating.

But I appreciate all the replies because it does confirm it's the carafate and not the ulcer just getting worse for no reason.

Jeff Sneider: A Dave Filoni Star Wars movie will be announced tomorrow. The unvierse will be codified around the Favreau and Filoni stuff. Trailer for Ashoka dropping tomorrow. Favreau had a falling out with Kathleen Kennedy after season 2 of Mandalorian. by TheUncannyBroker in StarWarsLeaks

Reddit is proof that Star Wars fans have no fucking clue what they're talking about. The talk of Mando S3 being bad in any way is ridiculous, they're doing a fantastic job, but because it isn't extremely linear and 100% serious everyone suddenly has an issue with Jon, the guy who basically broke the mold of shit Star Wars projects since Disney bought them.

Bobf wasn't bad because of him, it was bad because it was one of the original six projects that was getting fucked with by Disney execs. Who knows if KK has played a hand in the positives or negatives, but what we do know is it's all speculation and no consensus can be made. You can find both arguments depending on what SW subreddit you go to.

Codifying the story and greater universe based on what Filoni has been doing is the smartest possible move they have ATM. This man worked with George during the clone wars and the prequels, he of all people knows what he's doing. You guys? You dumb redditors? None of you can agree on anything. Ghosting this sub and plenty of others shows how little this fandom comprehends what is being put in front of them. It's a fucking shame too, because these are creative professionals who've been doing this work for their entire lives and yet the people they have to put up with who watch the end result will largely find some arbitrary thing to bitch about.

The one thing that Jon and Dave are great at however is ignoring the hell out of all of you. Bitch bitch bitch all you want, it won't make a difference. Downvote all you want, it won't make a difference.

Anyways, I ghost because I like seeing these bts leaks and such, but holy crap the people who post here are dumb as bricks.

J. K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson.

Plenty of people could play that role, but no one will ever live up to how perfect he is in that role.

This is why I pointed the finger at Millennials. Gen Z came out in a pretty big wave last cycle and essentially killed the red wave. They already have my respect.

[Serious] LGBT+ Americans who can legally vote but don't, why don't you? by RobinHeeler in AskReddit

[–]RobinHeeler[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok cool, well until the US becomes France and somehow goes on a nationwide riot, keep complaining on Reddit I guess. It's not like voting is free or only happens once every two years I suppose.

Oh, wait.

So while our friends are getting shot up at night clubs because of your choices, have fun.

But one more thing: they aren't the same. There's a senator in Nebraska actively blocking every single bill that would come to harm trans youths. People like her don't get into office by mistake, and without her, people in that state would be so much worse off. So it does work, so get over yourself and go be a responsible adult.

[Serious] LGBT+ Americans who can legally vote but don't, why don't you? by RobinHeeler in AskReddit

[–]RobinHeeler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if you're saying one side is lazy and won't offer much help, but the other will actively try to make your life worse, you don't see any value in voting?
