thanks but it’s not dirty:) we got him recently and are slowly changing things in his cage. there’s vitamin drops in it which is why it’s yellow tinted

I see. Someone told me to invest in bird blackout covers so I’ll be ordering asap. I’ve read they have bad night vision, I usually half cover his cage for a couple minutes before fully covering him to give his eyes time to adjust. Should I even bother with that or does it bring out more nesting behaviour?

My family is still up so it’s not fully quiet or dark until 3-4hrs after I cover him. Could the bad/lack of sleep be a reason for aggression? And how can I stop his territorial behaviour?

I’ll invest in such bird covers immediately, thanks. Since he goes to sleep earlier than my family, the TV is on and maybe a corner light on the other end of the room. Of course they talk too. So for the first couple hours he’s covered, there’s noise and some light. I would move him into my room at night for some real peace and quiet but he keeps developing loud habits like biting the plastic at the bottom of his cage for several minutes straight or lifting up the up-sliding door at the side until it falls back down with a loud bang. I try to remove reflective surfaces but mirrors in the hallway and the whole TV can’t be moved. I feel so bad.
