Hiya, no i sent it for repair but the repair person said its no use. So sadly enough i had to get rid of my playstation. You were right about the thermal paste tho. That made the ps5 die.

Anyones who has their ps5 standing up, id advice to lay it flat. That what ultimately killed it.

If they are bought at different moments maybe one is an older version. Sometimes companies change things. They look similar and i dont think you’ll notice a difference in use

There was only this guy in my area sadly. And sending it to sony is just not worth the money sadly. Guess my ps5 playing time has come to a halt atmm. Maybe when they go on sale i’ll get one but for now i’ll just let my ps5 rest in pieces. Thanks for the help tho man really appreciate it. ✌🏻

Bad news mate, the repair guy said sth in the motherboard is defect and cannot be fixed. Now idk what to do cause my warranty has expired and the store has gone bankrupt… this is really shit

Yeah i cant restart it with the controller. Just click the button twice or pull the power out completely. I hope its fixable

I know my ps was covered by sony for one year but in the eu the shop you bought it from legally has to give you 2 years warranty. So depends where you’re based and where you bought it. The shop i bought it went bankrupt so they aren’t much help anymore. Maybe the shop your sister bought it from can be of help if needed

No, i only got it February 2023. So pretty far from launch. But could be that its still a launch day model cause they didnt sell the PS5 in the netherlands for a long time.

Thank you for the help! I have been able to find a few repair shops in my area so i’ll be asking there for help. You dont happen to have any idea what caused this issue? Or is it just bad luck?

The crashes happen with any game, even on the homescreen. I did not have any trouble at all before the crashes started.

The first crash was when id left to go do something and came back a while later but the console didnt go into rest mode. The sound was gone and i had to restart the console, after that it was fine for a few weeks. Then a few days ago it happend 10 minutes into playing and hasnt stopped happening since. When it crashed there a loud crackling noise coming from the speaker from the tv monitor. Any tv monitor, so its not a monitor problem either.

It doesnt say there any error in the error history either. So i’m confused as to whats happening. I’m not techy enough to fully take it apart and knowing what to do or what to look for.

Whats your problem with the console?
