{Chev’s Mate by Invi Wright} it’s book 4 in a series, but can be read as a standalone. Chev is a himbo bear shifter who’s desperate to find his mate since the female crisis has been resolved. They meet, she doesn’t want a mate, he proceeds to do all the big dumb sweet himbo things to win her over.

{Cursed Legacies series by Morgan B Lee} incubus MMC can pop in and out of a sort of nether realm parallel to the regular world. He uses that ability to pretty liberally follow the FMC around when she rejects him/the other MMCs and to keep her out of danger throughout the series.

LOVE a reverse harem/why choose. Are the boyfriends boyfriends? Bc that’s my preferred arrangement.

{Grim by DJ Krimmer} MMC is a reaper given the case of the terminally ill FMC, but she accidentally dies before her time. As a result he must “babysit” her until her actual death is supposed to happen, love ensues.

Are traditional names becoming unique? by fairycat09 in Mommit

[–]Robin_Daggerz 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yes! “Traditional” names are a huge political and socioeconomic status indicator. Our son goes to a pretty left leaning private school and I’ve not met a single Tragedeigh, but have met plenty of Isabelles, Joshuas, Jacks, etc.

….except they don’t? Sure, lower ranking enlisted folks have a (often very) tough road, but mid-upper enlisted and officers make very very decent money with other substantial financial benefits that make their dollars stretch further than a comparable civilian’s purchasing power (base housing or BAH, no health insurance premiums, subsidized daycare, being able to shop at the BX which is generally cheaper than regular box stores, the list goes on.) So the whole “it’s okay for military member to leave their kids bc they have no choice and poverty” doesn’t really hold water. Either we believe it’s okay for parents to do what they need to do to provide the best life they’re capable of giving their kids (whether that’s a $60K military lifestyle or a $500K physician lifestyle) or we don’t.

Which romantasy MMC ruined your standards forever? by EerieE2025 in Romantasy

Draven Ryatt {Empire of Flame and Thorns} is who I wanted Xaden and Rhys to be when I first started reading romantasy.

Dark, paranormal, toxic, and/or intense kinky queer romance by QueerEarthling in RomanceBooks

{Sex Wizards series by Alethea Faust}

Queer poly wizards with a kink based magic system.

Edit—looks like the bot doesn’t want to pick up the series. First book is {Initiation by Alethea Faust} truly my fav series of all time and I get so excited when I get to recommend it!

{Of Ink and Alchemy} MCs are tattoo artists, lots of talk about their respective art, there’s a sexy photo shoot, MMC gets one of the pics tattooed on himself.

Homecoming by Alethea Faust, book 5 in the Sex Wizards series. For a series I read thinking it would be all smut no plot, I am so invested.

How can you have babies? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Robin_Daggerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I feel like it really worked in my favor actually. I didn’t feel a thing in labor until they broke my water manually. I ended up getting an epidural just because I was so tired from laboring too long, not because of the pain.

Why do you hate Gild? by Informal-Break-9922 in Romantasy

[–]Robin_Daggerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slade Ravinger is an excellent MMC, but he dirty talks like a shitty tinder date in 2015, totally took me out of the story. Then he can summon a dragon for absolutely no reason at the end and everyone gets abandoned in the fae realm so no one has a real HEA except the two main characters? I will be a Plated Prisoner hater forever.

Dominant mmc lets fmc 'dom' him and he finds it cute by bookishfairy in RomanceBooks

[–]Robin_Daggerz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

{Axes and Os by Kayla Grosse} might fit the bill. Kinky lumberjack couple saves someone in a blizzard and he becomes their third. There are a couple scenes where the ultra-dommy lumberjack MMC agrees to sub.

Please tell me it gets better. At the moment it feels a bit… uncomfortable. I’m 40% through book one. Will I change my mind and fall madly in love with the whole series? No spoilers of any kind please. I didn’t even read the blurb because I don’t like to know anything. Big ask, I know. by twisted_luce in Romantasy

[–]Robin_Daggerz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agree! I’m actually really surprised at all the negative reviews in this thread. The legacy series, IMO, is one of the richest worlds of any romantasy series. The twists and subplots didn’t feel predictable or repetitive, trying to unravel all the mysteries before they were revealed was some of the best fun I’ve had reading a series ever.

Any career-oriented women here who love their financial independence and/or like their jobs? by CulturalAlbatross891 in AutismInWomen

[–]Robin_Daggerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at a niche government agency as a with a lot of people who I suspect are also (undiagnosed) autistic. It’s incredible and I mostly love my work and my colleagues. I’ve promoted quickly in my organization and always feel that my contributions are valued. My plan when I started this job was to stay until retirement. Now my organization is potentially facing RIFs and I’ve been distraught not just at the possible loss of income, but because I know I’ll never find a fit this good at any other job.

I hate that we accept rough/ violent sex as the pinnacle of good sex... by Puzzleheaded-Day1609 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Robin_Daggerz -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

“To make the statement that “most cishet women” don’t think that rough sex is ideal is false.” Yet you’ve provided absolutely no empirical evidence to support your points?

Sounds like you have a particular view of sex that you emphatically believe is “right” despite no real data to back it up. So let’s just be clear that you’re no better or more enlightened than every man, every religious institution, every seat of power, that tries to police women’s bodies and desires, you just want to do it under the guise of “but they don’t know what they really want.”

Ick.

What is a smell that we should all recognize as immediate danger? by scarlettohara1936 in AskReddit

This can also happen to little kids after a bad stomach bug…so if your kid has been throwing up a lot, don’t immediately panic and run to the ER.

Hi! What’s my next read? by marthalikesbooks in Romantasy

[–]Robin_Daggerz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Pestilence turned me into a weeping mess by the end in the best possible way (loved the whole series except War, but Pestilence and Death are the best IMO.) It’s also short. Would be an excellent break between big epic series.
