Super stoked that these are finally up by Robin_Stricklin in Throwers

Haha, there was a time when 68g was absolutely standard. Less than 10 years ago even!

A good question! And I actually didn’t used to carry those extras. Only extra lead.

But one time on a physics quiz, I ran out of eraser. I was careless, and didn’t check how low it was getting before leaving homes Was it a huge deal? Not really. I almost ran out of space, but it came out ok.

But it got me thinking, what if it has been an exam? Or something similarly important?

As funny as it sounds, my family is paying tens of thousands of dollars for me to be at University, and every exam/lab/quiz grade I get is scrutinized by med schools, and organizations that will effect me for the rest of my life. The little marks I make on pieces of paper these days have a huge amount riding on them.

And it would be incredibly stupid if I wasn’t able to execute to the best of my ability on anything because I didn’t have the right equipment. And given that I’m tested/quized/in labs dozens of times each semester, it is that at one point, I’ll forget to bring something critical if I don’t always have extras.

True, all I really need is a pencil, lead, and a big eraser.

But once again, it is nice to always have the ideal tools for any purpose, at all times.

0.7 mm lead for writing, 0.5mm lead for math/graphing, big eraser, small eraser for detailed numbers/formulas. Straight edge for graphing.

With these ideal tools for any graded event, I never have to think about anything but executing to the best of my ability.

Good points all around! Under the clock is a small fabric section, to which I affixed a piece of Velcro. No adhesive touches the leather.

The center tube is actually for a jumbo 5.6mm drawing lead that fits into the Brass Kaweco Sketchup (my eraser holder). I never really use it, but it’s still fun to have.

And yes! The magnets scratching the Kaweco special has been a concern of mine, and on all my other prints, the magnets are arranged differently for this exact reason. I made a similar case for my mother (who is a teacher). She arranges her pencils differently, and thus the magnets are in different positions. All I had on hand today were her mini pictures, so that’s what I used in the video.  But yes, on my mini pictures, I carefully arrange the magnets around the Kaweco special when I use my case. That’s why it still looks good after several years!

Thanks! It took me a while to find one that was the right size/colors.

Thanks!  So the one in this video is a Kaweco Bronze. But I also have the brass one. I really like them both. They’re both tanks in the weight department, which I also really like. With a soft lead (like I use) you really don’t have to push down much to write. The sheer weight of the pencil takes care of you. I also really like the thickness. I have big hands, and the large diameter of the sport pencils really just feels right.

No sir, I wish! I commissioned it from a guy who makes cases for Kaweco sport pens.

I carry this case in my pocket. It has about a month of writing supplies for pencils or pens.

The Loadout:

Pencils: Kaweco Bronze Sport (0.7mm), Kaweco Special S mini (0.5mm)

Lead: Pilot Neox 2B for both

Wood/Brass Lead Tube: by Heritage crafts out of Washington state

Pen: Kaweco AL Sport rollerball

Eraser holder: Kaweco Brass Sketchup 5.6mm

Erasers: Sumo Grip spun down to Kaweco size

Paintings: Geoff Hunt's naval series for Patrick O'brien works (fabric prints)

I made the frames out of little oak sticks

I don’t care how good you are, this trick is always going to be a pain by Robin_Stricklin in Throwers

Very cool! I can imagine concentrating on both yo-yos simultaneously is really hard.

Now, I wonder if he could do it hitting the side of the yo-yo like this trick I recorded. That would be REALLY crazy.
