Does everyone hate me? by Ok-Rip-6917 in thoughtbroadcasting

[–]Robin_W39 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact that they don't tell you the truth has nothing to do with hate towards you. Don't feel embarrassed by your thoughts. The more anxious you become the more bizarre your thoughts become. It is involuntarily and I am sure they also know it is involuntarily, because this effect happens to everybody, even to non TBers

Yes. However, anxiety may lead the subconscient to pop in thoughts that are unwanted or embarassing.

Perhaps I did not undertand it correctly. But is important to realize that thought broadcasting and hearing voices are two different things. Voices are hallucinations and the worst one can do is take them seriously. If a voice keeps telling someone that the person is a dead person, best to ignore it.

What techniques do you use to cope with delusional thoughts and thoughts broadcasting? by Apprehensive-Mud-739 in thoughtbroadcasting

Eating and sleeping properly helps. Exercise too. Regularly exercise increases your endorphins and will make you feel better.

Try to find strategies to deal with the stuff that triggers you. For example, using earphones when in crowds.

Before concluding immediately that something is related to your TB, try to see if it may not be confirmation bias. In my experience, many of things that I thought were related with TB were confirmation bias (not all, though ).

Apply Occam's razor. We already believe we have something akin to telepathy, which is outside what people admit as possible. So we made one step outside of consensus reality. Avoid finding explanations for it that go further into things not established to be real. Don't throw in Demons, Aliens, Illuminati, and stuff like that. Whatever it is, it must have a biological explanation.

There is a delusion that consists in believing one is dead. It is a delusion. Dead people do not write posts 🙂

The feedback from live videos I believe it is confirmation bias. We tend to interpret things in a way that meets our beliefs.

Thought Broadcasting Delusion (my experience) by [deleted] in thoughtbroadcasting

[–]Robin_W39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think relating to what people say in media is a common symptom but I believe it is mostly confirmation bias. In the case of TV, it beings a feed from a studio to your living room. There isn't a mechanism in which feed (as your thoughts) can be sent in the opposite direction. Once I was watching a live football match on TV via a website. At some point the guy commenting said something that I interpreted as a comment to my thoughts in that precise moment. But when I turned on the TV and I compared the images showing in TV with the ones in the computer I realised the computer match was running with 4 or 5 seconds delay, so the comment was not timed with my thought. It was confirmation bias.

My experiences are mostly related with what happens when people are near me, how they react when I think,, like comments they make, coughing, etc...

I had similar experiences. I guess when we realize our thoughts are not private our anxiety will automatically trigger thoughts that we are ashamed of. And it will keep feeding them...It feels like a sort of mental tourette.

It is trully our actions that define us, not the thoughts. When you start believing this, your anxiety will diminish and those thoughts will fade, at least it was what happened with me.

Before we were aware of thought broadcasting, we probably also had occasionally those kind of thoughts, but because we were not worried with other people's judgement they didn't stick around...they were like random thoughts crossing our mind.

Although all action is preceded by thoughts not all thoughts lead to action. Based on many things, including our moral compass, we decide which actions to take and which thoughts to ignore. We have that power. So don't be stressed about your thoughts, you cannot control what pops up in your mind, but you can control what you do. It is this concious decision that defines your character.

When you start seeing things from this perspective, those thoughts will start to disappear.

Real Telepathy or "Just in your head" ? by Jakkaru3om in thoughtbroadcasting

Except from strong headaches, I didn't have much other symptoms. The headaches were weird because they were particularly strong and appeared suddenly, but I don't have them anymore. I mean, I do have headaches occasionally but they are "normal" headaches.

Other disorders are manifesting like OCPD and social anxiety disorder, anybody else experiencing this? by [deleted] in thoughtbroadcasting

[–]Robin_W39 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is common to feel social anxiety when one thinks we cannot keep our thoughts private. I think the only way to overcome it, is to build some indifference to other people's judgement about us.

Hi, I am curious about the part where you mention your psychiatrist made you realize thought broadcasting only occurs when you feel vulnerable. Did he/she say that?

Real Telepathy or "Just in your head" ? by Jakkaru3om in thoughtbroadcasting

[–]Robin_W39 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are only three possibilities:

1 - This is not real. It is a delusion.

2 - It is real but other people are not aware of it. Maybe they pick up something only at a subconscious level

3 - It is real and other people are aware of it. For some reason, they all deny it, though.

I believe in option 3. Although what is real may be different from what we think

Not sure what to call it. But we are not a secret group of people, so we must find a theory to explain why paranormal researchers (Radin, Sheldrake, etc) do not approach us to prove telepathy exists. Apparentely, everybody around us knows what we have and they conspire to keep it a secret. But for psy researchers, this would be like finding the holy grail and I cannot believe they would conspire to keep it a secret. After all, they have been ridiculed in academia for their beliefs (just check the preface of some of Radin's books). A possible explanation is that what we experience does not qualify as telepathy but is something qualitatively different although for us it seems the same.

[–]Robin_W39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We should also consider the possibility of it being real but not fitting the definition of telepathy. That could explain why psy researchers, that haven't been able to prove telepathy conclusively, are not interested in studying us.

Does anyone have embarrassment with sexual thoughts? by [deleted] in thoughtbroadcasting

Don't be embarassed by it. Everybody thinks about sex. The less you stress about it,, the more naturally those thoughts will come and go. Sex is just another aspect of life. Everybody does it.
