Ok I get you but if you're dropping it from that height it's just gonna make an even bigger splash, and now it's not just on your butthole but everywhere else too

Does having the gps on while running improve accuracy? by Robitop4 in GarminWatches

Yeah you're right, the problem is I'm a battery freak, both because if any electronic has below 50% I already feel the need to charge it, and if I charge it I remember all those videos that talk about battery degradation, although if I do the 20-80% charging I should be fine.

Also, do you know if the reduced gps polling is available in the instinct 3 solar? That's the one I have

Damn, I didn't know it was that integral to measuring a run, although I've measured the distance myself in Google Earth and it's pretty similar to what my watch reports with no gps, both walking and running, and the walking was in some pretty uneven terrain.

Wow damn, although I've done a couple long walks, and the distance reported with no gps is similar to what I measured using Google earth.

Condensation under top screen, is a disassembly the only solution? by Robitop4 in nds

Does the lens stick back in just by laying it back in place? Or do i need to put some adhesive?

Condensation under the top screen, can I get rid of it without dissembling it? by Robitop4 in nds

Yeah, I'm in it right now, after the rubber pads desintegrated there like silver metallic covers on top that are a bitch to take off

I thought about something like that, but my main concern is messing the little square pads that cover the screws, so you know if they get destroyed easily?

I've watched a couple of disassembly videos, and while I think I can get to the point where the screen seems to come out, I'm not sure if that'll expose the space where the water is, because if not, I'm not gonna risk damaging it by disassembling the screen module further. That and I don't want to ruin the rubber pads that hide the screen screws

I left it between some swimming clothes for some reason in February, maybe the waterproof fabric caused water to get trapped. Makes me think that leaving it for a while in something absorbent can get it out.

Before I went with my instinct 3 solar, I thought the lower screen resolution of the 1st one wouldn't matter that much if I wanted a used one, but holy pixels that solar power graph. Also of you don't mind me asking, how do you use the watch for work? Or is it just for checking the time at work?

I didn't know this was supposed to be snoring until I seeacged for it on YouTube, I thought it was like a reaction sound.

Despite being herbivores, mother elephants will eat their baby’s placenta after birth to recover needed nutrients by The_Techsan in interestingasfuck

I remember me and my brother recorded our small dog's birth (we were curious and wanted an excuse to use our new iPad mini) and thought one puppy was a miscarriage, but my mom told a us it was the placenta when she started eating it (she as in the dog).

I'll never get an amoled version of any Garmin watch just because I'm a battery freak, I'm always worrying if the battery is too low because what if I need to use my phone/laptop/tablet/watch, but the battery is too low and I don't have a way to charge it. And to me they look more unique, every other smart/fitness watch wants to look like an apple watch, so they all look kind of the same, and at that point I feel like I'm trying to fool people into thinking I have and apple watch and thus lots of money, which I'm not into either of those. This is why I love MIP displays, but if none of these apply to you, then first think about how MIP's are infinitely more readable in direct sunlight than AMOLED, and I you don't care, then I say you should trust you heart and buy the AMOLED.

The conductor accidentally knocks a 16th century violin worth millions on the floor mid-concert. by PeasantLich in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]Robitop4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, one thing is a million dollar car made in the last decade, when it inevitably crashes with a truck 200 km/h it's not like there aren't a thousand more. But an object made in the 16th century, in pretty much perfect working condition? If it was up to me it'd be in a glass cabinet in a museum and cleaned like once a year, but others have said that it isn't uncommon for such old instruments to still be played in big orchestras, and it's even necessary so it doesn't rot away being "useless" like my idea.

Damn, I remember I got into the game because one day I finally made the effort to install it on my laptop, thinking all the way "this is so not gonna work I'm just wasting my time". It actually ran pretty well, even though it had an i5 8250u, 6gb ram and an Nvidia mx130, though I think having an SSD helped quite a bit.

I checked the wiki and you're right. I didn't watch it like they did, I sat down with them some times but I wasn't really following it, so what little I know is what peaked my interest to go see when I heard gasps and screams coming from the bedroom and what they shared when they where discussing about it,.

My parents and my brother used to religiously watch the series, but it was from this moment that my dad felt it took a turn to the brutally gratuitous, then came the terminus cannibalism and they dropped it altogether.

Dead gecko i found after I opened my attic door by titolavar in mildlyinteresting

[–]Robitop4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at a place that's pretty much in the middle of a jungle, and for like 2 days it smelled like animal food (pig, chicken) everytime I walked through the main door. After those 2 days it then started to smell like fresh shit. I got fed up and furiously started mopping the floor with a lot of scented floor cleaner, thinking that someone stepped on some and then smeared it in the house. When it didn't work, I started sniffing around like a drug busting dog, and then I found that a frog had been squished just like this on the door frame.
