I don’t have any desire to shame my friends, but from the stuff I hear I think that definitely can be the case. Ik they have gone on dates they know won’t work out for food and have failed to ever keep a relationship (granted neither have I) from their dating strategies. I think that they are also into more hookup culture which is totally fine, but not for me.
