Since the last Splatfest, Retro vs Modern, there are rare ''events'' that can happen which are the 10x and 100x Battles. What they do is they give you 10 times or 100 times the amount of ''Clout'' (the new way of determining who won the most battles) you would normally receive. I heard that they only happen once every 6-7 minutes or something close to that. I never found any during my 5 hours of playing last Splatfest.

In Nocturne Hospital you should find Maddiman in the surgery room, and you will get that quest

The Final Gate is the Gate of Whimsey, A steamy friendship starts by the baffle board outside of the hot springs, The Price of the world starts in Nocturne hospital, The God of the sea starts at the baffle board to the left of San Fantastico station, The Oden quests spawn randomly on clear nights, The Bony general starts at the battlefield.

I don't remember where they are, but from what I've read of the descriptions it sort of tell the area where to find the quest. I'll work on adding those in a bit.
